So basically you have not actually read the thread? Or you would have noticed he has tweeted again saying he has not retired.
Effs me off when people post from a thread title and do not read any content
You sure your a natural bodybuilder Toby?

Seriously though (maybe wrong place to say that!) but its effed up when I look back at the days of just the three champions with fondness. I actually look back at the 80's when we had just the IBF, WBA and WBC who seldom stripped titles as a golden bloody age!coneye wrote:Toby......Take 10 deep breaths , and repeat , 20 times i am not a grumpy bastard ,, i am a nice man ,,
I found myself in the unfortunate position over the weekend of trying to explain to casual fans how Cleverly's 'world title' win over Braehmer fit into the overall title picture at light-heavy. I got some very odd looks indeed...tobyh5 wrote:Seriously though (maybe wrong place to say that!) but its effed up when I look back at the days of just the three champions with fondness. The fact that anybody believed him was a joke.cutsman wrote:Tyson Fury has retired from boxing (it was a joke)
Exactly the same with me.Boxerbeetle wrote:I always said he'd never fight again after the Wlad fight (although admittedly I thought he'd get knocked out in that fight and retire straight afterwards).
Still, I don't believe a word he says, especially when he's ranting on Twitter, so we shall see.
Took me a good year to recover mate, I met the girl during a period of turmoil, my mum was at the end stages of Alzheimers, and my life was completely chaotic, the girl basically saw I was in a weak mental state, and went in for the kill - she seemed so lovely at first, she was beautiful, intelligent, funny, and really caring - but once we started seeing one another, she started crushing me mentally, eroding my self esteem and taking away my sense of self by constantly criticising me, and using emotional blackmail all the time. Then she split up with me, when she realised I wouldn't allow her to dictate every iota of my life - even in my weakened state - unfortunately she was a dancer in a samba group I'm part of, so I had to see her all the time, and she went out of her way to make my life a misery, but trying to turn everyone against me.Tomasino wrote:Having been there as well, how long did it take you to get over it James?jamesmcdonnell wrote:I had a rough time with both of them, both were super-intelligent and incredibly manipulative and needy, it completely did my gourd in. It was hell on earth, and I'm not exaggerating in saying I was literally suicidal by the end of it, I was already in a weakened state because of what was happening to my mum, and it was nearly the last straw. I was like a zombie for months on end, barely functioning, sleeping all the time, in between bouts of suicidal ideation, and feelings of utter self loathing. I felt I was the most pointless human being on earth, and secretly hoped I'd die in my sleep.
However, I clung to the idea this feeling would eventually pass, and little by little it did, and now I stride the world like a balding colossus.

Thanks for that reply mate. It was basically the exact same for myself...the worst part is, I've started wanting her againit's been a tough week because logically I know it's stupid but I really miss the good times, as tainted as they were.
Thanks Toby. I suppose it's just because I'm on my own just now and going through divorce. Your advice sounds good and I'm glad it's all working out for you now. I seen her recently and she looked so lovely, it's messed my head up. She cost me 40K and grassed me up to my wife. There was a time where I was seriously considering having her done! And now the angers gone I'm left with the desire for her....it's sick.tobyh5 wrote:Tomasino wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:

Mate you will be fine, it takes time but you will be fine. Most of us have been there. I was with someone for five years and had a son with her. She was lazy, a cheater, never did feck all around the house, did not work etc etc while I worked my ass off, cooked, cleaned, did everything and the whole time I was madly in love and she did not even want to bloody be with me. It ended in 2008 and I was desperate to get her back. Crazy, effed up, suicidal, life was a nightmare as she fked her way round our town. I dated someone else but was not ready, all a nightmare. I then took time out and dated no one from 2010 until early last year. Spent the time single, getting my shite together and now moving in with a top lass, life is awesome, work is productive, my elder kids and the one with The Bitch spend lots of time with me.
Now, years later, I look back at the time with her and the couple years after with blackness, I literally frown thinking back and feel a darkness in my mind when thinking about her. My business was stagnant and suffered, everything was utter horseshite. Now I see lightness literally and am staggered I was with her, put up with any of the shite I did, then wanted to effing get back with her! Her life is the same disgusting mess (sadly we share a son so it has an affect but I give him balance)
What I learnt was that I was not with her for any real reason of her or the situation but a totally wrong situ in my own mind, issues I had that were not address. So, deal with yourself, be happy alone then when you are with someone, it is great. I am with my missus for no other reason than I want to be and it is healthy. We have not even had a cross work in 21 months.
Sorry for ramble, I just felt your pain there.
Indeed we do, let's have a look at the diary, I'll be ready to fall back off the wagon come November, on very good form right now, especially as I just came back from a relaxing trip to spain, firing on all cylinders, have to say, after only a week on the wagon, I feel absolutely frigging amazing.!J wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:Took me a good year to recover mate, I met the girl during a period of turmoil, my mum was at the end stages of Alzheimers, and my life was completely chaotic, the girl basically saw I was in a weak mental state, and went in for the kill - she seemed so lovely at first, she was beautiful, intelligent, funny, and really caring - but once we started seeing one another, she started crushing me mentally, eroding my self esteem and taking away my sense of self by constantly criticising me, and using emotional blackmail all the time. sounds like me and you need a serious chat over a pint or six. Good to hear you are back on form. Mid November Jim lets get a date in the diary
Took me a long time to get over my ex, helped when I met someone else - unfortunately she was even more mad, and when I split up with her she accused me of molesting her kid! Needless to say this was baseless and her ridiculous accusations were given short shrift by the police and our mutual friends, but jesus, I really know how to pick'em.Tomasino wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:Took me a good year to recover mate, I met the girl during a period of turmoil, my mum was at the end stages of Alzheimers, and my life was completely chaotic, the girl basically saw I was in a weak mental state, and went in for the kill - she seemed so lovely at first, she was beautiful, intelligent, funny, and really caring - but once we started seeing one another, she started crushing me mentally, eroding my self esteem and taking away my sense of self by constantly criticising me, and using emotional blackmail all the time.
