Amatuer experience, height, size... Oh god. Mundine had the home state "advantage"... Yeah, because all them fans wanted him to "win"...
OK, so are we going to throw out the old - Green was crook, weight drained etc etc etc. Both were world class Super middles. Dont give me that bullshit about amateur experience. Mundine grew up in the ring. He probably knew more about the sport that Danny did. Did you have to wait until others mention any possible advantage Danny had before you responded.
:OhYes:

There is already concern about ticket scalping.

Apparently if the fight is declared as major event the tickets by law cannot be on-sold for more than 10 per cent of the original price.

It seems a no brainer they should declare it a major event. It will fill the Adelaide oval after all, and anything that stops people profiteering just because they manage to get their hands on tickets before the people who really want them is a good thing.

You've confused me, that's for sure... Green WAS NOT weight drained at all. He was out-foxed by a superior boxer.

Just because Mundine grew up around the ring, doesn't mean s@#t! What a rediculous argument!

How about we keep the thread on topic and about the rematch at the Adelaide Oval in February.

Do we really need to pollute this thread with an absolutely pointless argument about crud that was argued to death and beyond 10 years ago?

.....he was weight drained....no he wasn't.....yes he was.....no he wasn't and you're an idiot, no you're the idiot....

If people really feel the need to re-argue the same old worn out shite from the fight 10 years ago I have started a NEW THREAD specifically for that. So go for your life!

This thread is about the rematch at the Adelaide Oval in February. Please respect that.

Ha ha nah I will be OK, this is the same as RJJ v Hopkins 2 where 1 fighter was clearly superior in there primes but the other deteriorated with age worse than the other. I actually supported Green in the 1st fight so it looks like I will lose twice not that I will bet or watch the fight live this time.

So long as you don't take Green's win too badly. That's the main thing.

The boxing starved bogans from the City of Churches will probanly flock to this meaningless fiasco in droves.
It'll be a hard slog listening to the dribble coming from the mouths of these two geriatric clowns for the next 3 months.
With any luck their bodies won't stand up to a solid preparation and the Promoters and the South Aust government
will have to pull the plug on this whole sordid affair. :stop: :OhYes:

The South Australian Government’s prediction the fight will realize $4 million in economic benefits isn't based on 37,000 Adelaide residents driving to the Adelaide oval and back. People will travel from all over to attend this fight. No point trying to pretend otherwise.

No point anyone pretending that this is for real. {no guarantee that it will ever happen]
It's just a superannuation benefit for two old blokes who have just about milked the cash cow dry.

It will be one of the biggest money fights in the history of Australian boxing and people will travel from near and far to attend it. That's why other capital cities also wanted to host the fight. Because of the revenue that comes with holding it.

Do you think so? I have my doubts a lot of people are very apathetic about this fight in the media. Then again it's the internet boxing media rather than the mainstream media panning this fight. Some examples.

Do I really think it will bring millions of dollars of economic benefits to South Australia?

Absolutely.

If they fill Adelaide Oval with 37,000 people from all over the country as expected, there's little doubt the flow on effect will be millions of dollars of economic benefit to South Australia.

Green's thoughts :

“He thinks he’s a better fighter than me, I know I’m a better fighter than him ... let’s sort it out,” he said.

“I’m a prize fighter, my job is to beat the person in front of me and the biggest prize out there is me fighting him. Neither of us like to lose but we especially don’t want to lose to each other.

“There is no malicious intent in this and no one wants to hurt anyone. But it’s a real thrill knowing that the man standing across from you is a highly-skilled, trained, professional fighter and wants to try and knock you unconscious.

“You’re all alone and there’s no better feeling. I’m starting to bob and weave just talking about it. Why will I win? Because I believe I’m a better fighter and I’ve aged better.”

Green has been cool and calm since the fight announcement. Mundine on the other hand has tried to bait Green and engage with him. But so far to no avail.

Him and James Hooper did an interview with Green before the Briggs fight and he didn't say anything until after the fight. Reading the comments no one cares they just want to see Mundine beat up. One guy even repeats Dannys significant weight loss crap from the first fight. Kent's right but a
large section of society as witnessed on this forum doesn't care.

Modern journalism is all about being selective with what you print from your research and turning it into polarizing articles. Bravo Paul Kent.

14 weeks roughly til the fight. Can't see Mundine slotting another fight in for fear of being KOed again. He is going to be a sitting duck for an early KO in Feb.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, all smiling tourist, sports & what have you Minister is totally unaware legislation exists re Combat Sports & has so since 2003

Mundine's punch resistance really seems to have deserted him and I'm sure Green has firm plans of taking this one out of the judges' hands.

Hopefully Khoder hasn't got his hands all over this.
Otherwise the undercard fighters will be paying their own expenses as per usual.

What happens in this regard.... i got the impression from a previous post that tickets for the event are already on sale....

What kind of medicals are required?.... all the other arguments aside.... could Mundine require a mri and nuerological assessment due to his recent history of knockdowns?....
