Jack is easier to hit though I'd say. He'll come forward and DeGale will catch him. DeGale can be a joy to watch at times then when he takes his foot off the gas he's frustrating as fornicate! You're right though Jack will no doubt pick up some rounds with his work rate and could make it close.

Hes easier to hit but he keeps his guard pretty tight IIRC. Bouncing shots off the guard of a dude whos coming forward while you circle the ring, which I would expect to be quite a pattern in this fight, can tire a fighter out quite quickly.

Degale pretty much sweeping early rounds and holding on to nick a couple late, close pts win, seems the smart bet to me.

Same. He'll probably make it more difficult than it has to be. I wonder if Smith will be next if he comes through...

Comes across really well in that. I like James. There was no point in that interview where he, to me, said anything dishonest, lied, was offensive or a knob, or came across as media trained and boring: he was just himself and it's clear that if he beats Jack he wants the big fights, wants to unify, wants GGG, wants Stevenson if he comes down to 168 as he is rumored to.

I liked the way he laughed at the suggestion that he fight Groves again or Eubank jnr. He admitted they were big money fights that captured the public imagination, but he had "bigger fish to fry" and then went on about the fights mentioned above. Impressive. Hearn is a very good promoter but he promotes shite and is greedy. Hearn is prizefighter, Haye-Audley, GGG-Brook, Joshua-Martin, Haye-Bellew. If Degale was still with Hearn we would be seeing these sort of fights, Groves 2 or Eubank, more 'novelty' fights. Degale has other plans: "when I lose I'll take them fights". He clearly wants significant fights and he looked very happy and comfortable in that interview, like the fact that he wasn't being so well known to the British public as others was a better thing: the people that matter know who he is, and he doesn't have to deal with any other press than say, boxing news or ifilm, and he's making money and fighting good fights.

Degale is good for boxing. I hope he keeps winning.

PS: If he comes through Jack then Callum Smith is the mandatory, which Degale seems excited about. I think Callum is terribly overrated and is stagnating, but I would worry for James on the scorecards if Hearn stages that one. there have been some exceedingly iffy scorecards for Matchroom fights and with Degale's tendency to make fights he is winning quite easily suddenly become close on the scorecards I'm sure Hearn would jump at the chance to rob him. He's probably going to have to knock Smith out.

I think Degale will finish him early. First 3 rounds.

It's certainly a bold prediction. Degale has shown that he has power, and Jack was written off initially because of being sparked early doors.

It's possible I guess.

Degale showed good power early against Periban and Dirrell and Jack has been taken out early before. It's obviously a betting long shot with two evenly matched guys but I have a feeling he is going to jump on him.

I think he's winning everyone over, you have to respect his "have gloves will travel" attitude. Hopefully we will get to see him in some big UK fights though, he's a genuine world champ rather than one of the British world champs we have.

I wouldn't be shocked if he's on the wrong end of a bad decision. Think he needs to put Jack on the floor to get the win if it goes 12.

As per Dan Rafael on twitter, purses are Degale $750k and Jack $700k.

Could they have earnt more if the fight was in the UK?
