Was supposed to say 'if'. just illustrating that it's not small money. It's not hard to imagine that Eddie is selling half the tickets at inflated prices though, considering every event sells out in 1 min. Are we supposed to believe that boxing is now more popular than ever before. Before the match room takeover I was never not able to get a ticket for a fight I wanted, now it's like trying to win a golden ticket at face value prices
No way in the world Eddie Hearn is ticket touting. He's Britian's biggest boxing promoter. And you really think he's got time to organize selling tickets for more than face value.

Let me just lay this to rest by saying this..... if he wanted to make more money on the tickets, he would just set a higher ticket price. Simple.

Yeah I could be over egging it who knows. Definitely a relationship though as they announced it last year. Stub hub don't buy tickets themselves so if it's a partnership surely it's Eddie selling them

Anyway who cares, as others have said you either pay it or not. I paid over the odds to see GGG, don't want to pay over a 100 for this, will watch at home.

Eddie does'nt sell any tickets ,, don't know if you noticed but he's the boss , with daddys say so ..So if he wanted to sell half the tickets to scalpers , his mate at the pub , or anyone else , the last thing you will see is Eddie walking round with a bagful , on a sunday market ,, what he will do is what he does for most everything ,, DELEGATE .. you know give the job to an employee and then supervise and rake the cash in . I don't know if he does or not but if he wanted to its easy enough . to do
Put the prices up to, I doubt it , he's already at maximum price for the shite he dishes up

Its a good card for attending. It might not fit to someones expectation for PPV but for attending it is better then decent. Anyone claiming otherwise is only pushing anti Matchroom propaganda.

BTW it seems already 80-90 % sold (to fans). So haters who expect "half empty" arena will be bitterly disappointing. On the other hand, relatively slow ticket sale might indicate low PPV buys. At least something you sad people can cheer about. :-P

This is something Hearn copied from America. Mayweather Hatton was the first big promotion I was aware of that did this. The fighters actually bought blocks of tickets and resold them to secondary ticket sellers.

It adds to the 'promotion' of the event and makes people a lot more money. People these days want to be 'seen' at events and will pay a premium

Here's a link on the mayweather Hatton ticket scheme

Stubhub, via gogo etc make it much easier to take advantage of this

I posted a link above to it. Yes boxers have always sold tickets but what happened in Hatton mayweather is that they sold tickets to secondary operators/companies who then put them on the market to the public. It meant that only a tiny percentage ever went on sale at face value.

Thus is what is happening with matchroom/stubhub. It's not a few guys sitting around at midday trying to get tickets to sell on for a profit. It's a boardroom decision made by 2 companies to exploit the market

It's awful for a PPV, no doubt about it.
Do you not love the undercard mate? Some very good match ups IMO.
That doesn't justify a PPV in my eyes. I won't be shelling out for it.

The main event should decide whether it's a PPV or not, and Molina is not a good enough opponent for a PPV.

How do you know who it's sold to?

The tickets will have gone to other platforms to sell, without doubt.

He won't be touting, he will do a deal with stub hub. It's commonplace these days.

I'll not be shelling out a penny for this PPV personally.

There are more than 1400 tickets available on Stubhub, the lower priced tickets are coming down slightly to around £97 still £30 more than face value but are the sellers getting a little worried and starting to reduce the price by a pound or 2 to try and shift their tickets that they might be stuck with?

On Eventim the cheap ones seem to have all gone now with just the odd 1 seat around the arena at £87. There does seem to be plenty of the higher tickets available on Eventim so im starting to think that this event will not sell out. Maybe the public have come to their senses and wont pay to see AJ knock out someone in under 3 minutes.

I think the card being 2 weeks before xmas will put a lot of people off, I can see it selling out, but don't think people will buy them from touts for silly money!!

Touts are everywhere... This fight wasn't even the best touting opportunity this weekend. If Eddie wanted to stop it he could, at the very least, make it very difficult for them. The fact he is actually sponsored by them speaks volumes.

Stubhub don't sell tickets. Full stop. People buy the tickets, put them on there and get what they can for them. It's large scale touting, but Hearn isn't involved in the actually selling of tickets. The shows are sponsored by StubHub, big deals. They've also been sponsored by We Buy Any House, so Hearn must be buying houses and selling them higher.

That is incredibly sheltered thinking. Are you under the impression that every single person who buys a ticket to these events is then flooding stubhub with the thousands of tickets they have available.

Pretty sure that select committees are being formed to look at the practice of these sites and their relationships with promoters, football clubs, venues etc

Stubhub don't sell the tickets. They get a chunk of change for ever transaction. You really think they are going to risk investigation by the FBI for scalping/touting tickets themselves. That would be the equivilant of a casino sitting at the poker table. Listen to yourself man, you sound like the loons that thought Haye injured himself to avoid Fury.

Exactly, they are a vehicle being used by matchroom to shift tickets. They are official partners of matchroom, official sponsors too.

This is an accepted practice in America as the article I posted shows. You want a ticket for the NFL in new York, the teams will point you in the direction of the secondary market. Don't believe me, email the giants or jets or any other team and tell them that you're heading over from the UK to watch your favourite team

I've always stood up for The Good Night Out brigade, as I think a night at the fights with your mates and some beers is better than a night in the pub, and think Boxrec-ers can be too miserable and down on people who pay for live gates. However, I'm fed up with live boxing for the moment. The shows I want to go to are either like getting Glastonbury tickers (waiting hours on the phone refreshing the website only for it to be sold out) or 'rescheduled due to injury'. The promoters and the boxers are too greedy. We've been fleeced enough and I can't be arsed with it. I have literally ZERO interest in the main event for this, it's a pisstake, and a decent undercard will not make me pay for it. I hope it dies on its arse.
