Yes. Eddie has said himself it's common practice. Kell-Spence is not a PPV fight. It might not even sell out Sheffield Arena.

In my own humble opinion, Brook's purse will be far in excess of £500,000.

Well he doesn't really. He has to fight him or give up his belt. He'd much rather fight Pacquaio or Khan. His hand is being forced basically. 154 isn't an easy division if he moved up and he also wouldn't have a belt to use as leverage to get the fights he wants.

For what it's worth I actually think Brook would have a good chance against Spence jnr. I think the latter is defensively quite lax and not quite as good as the hype that surrounds him. I think Crawford is a more talented fighter and more worthy of the hype when it comes to American fighters but it is what it is.

Well ducking in the sense that he doesn't really want that fight. If he wasn't mandated to take it he wouldn't be going anywhere near it. It's a risky fight.

What's a false bid? Agreement with the fighter who's due to get the 75% that he receives a smaller purse so promoter can secure fight?

Brook reportedly got 3m for the GGG fight, even bagged 400k for the Gavin fight so surely he'd demand more than 500k

If Hearn can sell Brook Gavin as a PPV then bet your arse Brook Spence will be one! Beats any of the Joshua PPVs to date...

Brook-Gavin had Joshua on and Mitchell. It also did crap, not sure about 400,000. Eddie always quotes that card as one that didn't do well. It was less than a month after Mayweather-Pac too.
