Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
I've no doubt that David Haye should absolutely blitz Bellew. He's a lazy LHW that can't even be arsed to make 200lbs nowadays, he's never a HW.
The one thing niggling away at me is that Haye has been paid off, taking a massive payoff to lose to Bellew and keep Hearn running the UK HW scene. I'm the same with AJ v Wlad. Wlad clearly took a payoff v Fury so why not v AJ?

That's a very bizarre theory mate with all due respect. Why on earth would Haye want to keep Hearn running the UK heavyweight scene when he's just set up his own promotional company with Richard Schaefer? As for Wlad, he was just outboxed by a better fighter in Fury.DazDiCanio wrote:I've no doubt that David Haye should absolutely blitz Bellew. Haye doesn't like Hearn, no chance he helps him out. There was an interview I saw with Hearn saying how Haye was annoyed he couldn't talk to Sky and to go through him, which was what caused his rant at the original press conference.DazDiCanio wrote:I've no doubt that David Haye should absolutely blitz Bellew. I would bet (alongside the money), the reason for this fight with a Hearn fighter was to show sky how marketable he still is, so that his next self promoted show can get back on SBO and off Dave, without being reliant on Hearn/Joshua for a pay day.

Haye is money driven. Lost a fortune in Dubai so he's open to a big cash backhander, surely?

They should have more fights on Dave, in my opinion.

You can't genuinely believe Haye would do this surely? His reputation would be utterly blown to bits if he loses to Bellew, he'd lose out on any possible future clash with AJ (which would make him at least £10m) and his promotional ambitions would also be very damaged. Also how much do you think Hearn would bung him for such a loss?DazDiCanio wrote:Haye is money driven. Lost a fortune in Dubai so he's open to a big cash backhander, surely?
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
Haye loses to Bellew, loud mouth Scouser then calls out Joshua for a 'massive' PPV fight in the late Summer, Hearn laughing all the way to bank with Haye alongside who has options on it

Bellew is not in a bad position with the WBC. Huck is fighting for the interim WBC or mandatory position. If Bellew loses to Haye, the Huck fight would be a good fight. I also think it would be a fun fight.JimJim2009 wrote:It is a cash out fight, if he was offered the chance to defend his WBC title, or fight Haye, for the same money, we know what he'd pick. Not criticising him, we'd all do exactly the same. Good luck to Tony I hope he goes out on his shield
The longer this fight goes I think Haye is more in control. Once he lands that should be it, he has too much power. The only way I see Bellew winning is, if Haye comes out fired up and ends up getting caught.

This is such a pantomime. Haye and Bellew are doing a great job of hyping it up.
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
Catching up on the press conference now. I know not everyone's cup of tea but I normally enjoy all the hype around fights and so like a bit of vereal sparing between the two camps. Why did they have this open for the public? A load of mouthy blokes thinking they're comediens shouting over half of it what's the point? Its ok at the weigh in but at the press conference come on.
Re: David Haye vs. Tony Bellew - March 4th 2017
I thoroughly enjoyed that presser.
Bellew and Matthews were feeding off the crowds energy, much like they will on fight night.
Haye may come across rattled, but I suspect he is in control which is quite a scary thought. (His 'your mum' comeback was the worst comeback I've ever heard though)
O'hara Davies had a shocker, and needs to learn when and where to put his marketing head on. Calling the fans what he called them was poor form, and is going to turn people against him.
