Really? A title shot and HUGE exposure.
It wouldn't be enough money for him, and he'd lose. He doesn't care about titles. He wants money, and he wants a guaranteed payday not a tough fight to get to a payday because he can't get by the tough fight successfully, and he knows it.
I can see that point of view. I disagree but who knows what's going on in the weird & wonderful mind of Briggs

Why can't people get this through their heads, all briggs wants is one huge payday before he calls it a day. He's broke.

That's right, but sadly, they simply duck him.
Just out of interest, where do you rank Briggs currently? Who is just ahead or behind him in your opinion?
rank 25 ish, just below Takam, Whyte, just above Price, Wawrzyk.
I'd have to say, there are guys out there ranked higher that I rate lower, and ranked lower that I rate higher.

Yeah but it's common knowledge the dust mites in his hotel room aggravated his asthma, making him vulnerable against Wilson...

I have strong doubts that Briggs would even beat Arnie Gjergjaj

I think he'd crush Gjergjaj. He's terrible.

Briggs KOed a guy who nearly went to distance with Gjergjaj without problems within the first round in his last match.

I'm not so sure that Briggs would win that, and if he did, Gjerjaj would be the top opponent he's beaten over the last decade.

For a poor guy, he seems to be doing all right jet-setting around the globe & staying in hotels.

Being able to afford a few flights a year is hardly rich.

Broke is of course relative, he's broke compared to the wealth he would have had when he was a relatively big name.

gilgamesh wrote:Briggs could get lots of regular fights. He doesn't want them. He wants a big payday, and he wants it handed to him.
Spot on.

There's no reason why he couldn't get regular fights, but he's just interested in a payday.

OK, I get that he has to put food on the table, but he should just be honest about his intentions because they're so blatantly obvious.

He doesn't want regular fights. He wants the big fights for world titles.

Indeed. Haye is in the exact same boat. That's why a fight between the two would have been fitting.

This sums up a lot of what is wrong with boxing today and not just Briggs- everyone wants an easy path to top money - Joshua, Alvarez Haye etc- they should be fighting at least four times a year in my book- just fight ffs

He never had a chance, his opponents scared out, doped, ducked, or several of these things. He's still waiting for someone to show up.

Didn't you say earlier that Briggs ducked Parker, wasn't that his big chance?
