It would sell out Cardiff ice arena.broomy7s wrote:Giving vip tickets away, madness. Good fight this and deserved to sell well.
I said at the time it was announced, it was a mistake not to hold it in Cardiff. Guess they want to hold it somewhere neutral, but Williams would definitely have sold out in Cardiff.mickey1975 wrote:It would sell out Cardiff ice arena.broomy7s wrote:Giving vip tickets away, madness. Just checked Manchester Arena website. Every single category of floor seat you can still buy the max allowance available. Tier 1 seats? Every block you can have eight (max allowed per person anyway) bar one block where you can get seven.TheCobra wrote:Decent fight and overall decent card, shame it seems to not be selling if they're having to do giveaways like that.
please use '>>>>' when you refer to this as a 'world title fight'. the winner will be another 'world champion' without a single world class windirk2686 wrote:Just checked Manchester Arena website. Massive shame. This is a world title fight in Manchester featuring a Manchester fighter plus an absolutely belting main event support and it has patently sold like garbage. I thought this was a new era?
Fair point. Flanagan hasn't beaten anyone of note and no amount of Warren going on about how massive a test Petrov is will mean Petrov actually is a massive test.Counter-puncher wrote:please use '>>>>' when you refer to this as a 'world title fight'. the winner will be another 'world champion' without a single world class windirk2686 wrote:Just checked Manchester Arena website. Still, you'd like to think if Warren had any promotional ability and Flanagan was better known than the local lollypop lady that this would be selling better than it appears to be.
Yeh it's true, there isn't really anywhere with an 8-10k capacity for mid-size events. Hence why they end up doing a half arena for some boxing shows, not ideal.Stuffs wrote:Here's what's left. Mainly the more expensive seats.
Only a block or two have been opened upstairs, but that's not much different to Crolla. The left hand side there is/was on sale too, I had/have tickets there.
As much as I'm gonna side with Pro-Manchester and Manchester fighters, a major problem is no mid-size venue between arena and small hall, so this sort of thing will always happen.
Doesn't the velodrome, where terry had boxed before, hold around 4k?TheCobra wrote:Yeh it's true, there isn't really anywhere with an 8-10k capacity for mid-size events. There was a bit of kicking off at that fight after the result/outcome. There hasn't been a fight there since from any promoter, big or small, which I don't think is co-incidence.wesshaw1985 wrote:Doesn't the velodrome, where terry had boxed before, hold around 4k?TheCobra wrote:Yeh it's true, there isn't really anywhere with an 8-10k capacity for mid-size events. I think W@rren and Co would have been better packing a smaller venue and had it bouncing rather than half fill a bigger venue and have word spread about it not being full.
Hopefully B0xNati0n can corden off and pack everyone in so it appears fuller than it is...
