Everyone is entitled to an opinion, preferably informed, but I was surprised by the venom that has come Price's way. It reminds me of when Audley was KO'd by Sprott. I'll say he's not had a bad career since he turned professional, not an amazing one and yes there have been more then a few unfulfilled promises and let downs along the way.

But he won the BBB of C English Heavyweight Title in a British title eliminator, Won the BBB of C British Heavyweight Title & Commonwealth title and defended them twice, Fought and lost in the EBU Heavy weight Title fight and WBO European Title fight but how many people can say they made it that far ?

if he calls it a day: Well done to him on a career of 25 fights, Title wins and loses and leaving the sport with his health in-tact

I think a lot of this venom is because many boxing fans felt taken in by management & experts at the time who were all calling him the next big thing, plus having seen what he was doing in the early stages of his career it looked true. Hell I dismissed Fury & would tell anyone who would listen that Price was going to be the next Heavyweight champion.

He has had a solid career & should be very proud of his achievements but still his career feels a case of what should have been. The Thompson loss & insane decision to rush him back in there with him really dented his confidence, when Amir was crushed by Prescott they kept him far away from punchers whilst they rebuilt him. After every loss there has been excuses & a couple of nothing fights to rebuild him but the fact reminds that every time he has stepped up he's been beaten.

People are saying he could return to domestic level boxing but even that has moved on since he was rolling through people when his career started & for the guy we saw on Saturday night I can only see him getting hurt.

i think in fairness when audley was kod by sprott the public had warmed to sprott as a lovelyman, decent and honest, bit of acute tragedy in his life.

audley during the olympics was a pleasing guy with rhymes and beads in his hair. he turned into a jumped up twat who basically thought he was going to conquor the world.

i took great pleasure in sprott laying him out in style, i had been to watch sprott train in a back garden near bracknell. what a lovely man, working as a removals man at the time.

i loved the moment when audley fell.......timberrrrrrrrr

this cant relate to price losing as he has been beaten by people who had not warmed our hearts, that makes it more tragic and sad for big dave. i wish him luck from now forward.

Definitely on the list of satisfying knockouts.

Another one for me was montiel getting Starched by donaire. Montiel was walking around with an annoying smirk all the way through the build up. Really made me want to see him sparked
