I agree, I think people are forgetting how good Mormeck was perhaps because their perception of him is coloured by his ill-advised HW outings. I also have Fragomeni beating him - I may be alone there - but he was decent in his prime and Bellew is far from the best active CW...
Mormeck was very good, I used to watch a lot of the old Eurosport cards and he was one of the very best in there.

Mormeck in Paris, Boomer would crap himself and get a Stevenson style hiding.

Do some people think Bellew is a really good back foot boxer just because of the Ovil rematch? He usually gets hit plenty by decent opponents, is easily hurt, and is prone to mid-fight lulls. People talk of Ruiz being limited, but even shot Val Brudov had Bellew all over the place; Brudov then lost every round prior to being knocked out cold by Chakiev 2 fights later. And Masternak, a guy who invariably falls short against top 20 CWs, wouldve gotten a draw had he won the final round I believe.
It's not impossible, but I highly doubt that Bellew would get through Mormeck, Enzo, Frago, Valuev, Chisora, and Ruiz with 6 wins.
Sums it up perfectly

Would he beat Audley Harrison? Valuev?

I don't know how anyone could pick them over him.
I can understand the Chisora, Enzo, Mormeck and even Ruiz picks but Valuev has the speed of an oak tree and Harrison would bottle it during the staredown.

Enzo is too chinny.
No way Mormeck beats him for me. Mormeck wasn't great. Too small at 5'11. Had been smashed by O Neill Bell of all people.
I wouldn't say he was that chinny. Look at his knockouts. Most of em are highlight reel KOs. The Enzo that beat Braithwaite would've done Bellew IMO.
Mormeck was a good fighter and could bang. Bellew is pretty overrated on here. Chisora would throw him about like an empty tracksuit as well.

If you're not trolling you should be embarrassed.
Actually, you should just be embarrassed.

I'd take Andre Ward to beat Valuev mate. 50 year old holyfield beat him with some movement. And I'd take him to beat Harrison too actually. I'd take Kovalev to starch Harrison. They were two of the poorest heavyweights of recent times.

I disagree about Ruiz. He was a limited brawler whose main strategy was barge forward and then hit and hold. Repeat. Have people watched his fights? Absolutely dismal stuff. His fights were generally a shambles. He was well beaten by good opposition.
Ruiz could fight 12 rounds, and he was strong and tough, I don't know how Tony Bellew at around 15 stone could keep him off for that distance.
Bellew isn't a heavyweight, there's no shame to it, but Ruiz beat some pretty decent fighters.
Jones Jr had magical handspeed, footwork and was the P4P best fighter at the time - exceptions don't make rules.

Yeah Ruiz would just grind Bellew down. Strong bloke and very effective (if boring).
Also:
Mormeck beats Bellew.
Enzo probably beats Bellew (always an if with Enzo though)
Valuev beats Bellew (I could see a similar fight to his one with Monte Barrett.)
Monte Barrett probably beats Bellew.
Chisora beats Bellew.
Audley????

50 year old Holyfield would have smashed Bellew, so it's not much of a comparison.

I'd price Bellew up at 1/3 vs Audley
Bellew 1/3 Valuev 5/2
Bellew 1/2 Enzo 7/4
Bellew 1/7 Barrett 5/1
Bellew 4/6 Mormeck 6/4
Bellew 4/9 Ruiz 2/1

Bellew against prime Mormeck in Paris would be 9-2'ish.

Fraudley would capitulate after the first attack.
Ruiz limited.
Chisora would probably be his hardest fight.
I'm not a fan of bellew, but Hayes record is actually pretty sh*te when you analyze it.
So is bellends when u analyze that,he never ever beat the real champion to win a belt all were vacant, haye beat the man at cruiserweight for the workd titles then beat the 2nd man in enzo for the wbo belt,he then moved up and beat valuev,ok he was a plank of wood but holyfield and ruiz couldnt beat him. I think enzo would of beat bellew at that time and mormeck would of beat him too as would chisora and thompson

I would be very confident picking Fragomeni over Bellew. Frag was tough as nails and would have just walked Tony down and stopped him. I remember Frag taking a crunching clean right hand from Haye and not even blinking. Haye had to work hard in that one.

What is going on here?
Bellew loses to pretty much everyone Haye has fought since Mormeck.
And I only say pretty much cause I know anything about the last two fellas he fought recently.

The tanking Bellew is going to take in a few weeks, in what will likely be no more than two rounds, should put this nonsense to bed!
Bellew beats Ruiz? What the actual f**k?

If he gets done inside 2-3 I'll hold my hands up mate.
It's not that I think he's a great fighter or anything. I find him to be an extremely odious character actually. I just don't rate Ruiz or the others. I mean, Valuev was a cirque de soliel act

I understand that mate, and I hated watching Ruiz and Valuev back then. That said though Ruiz was hard as nails, look at who he fought and indeed beat. He'd have just walked Bellew down and Tony doesn't have anything at that weight to keep him off.
Valuev wasn't talented but his sheer size made him a challenge for any small-ish heavy. Bellew wouldn't have nudged him and he's not slick enough to out box him over 12.
Bellew made 175 for a long time. He was big at the weight but he could make it. Heavyweights are freaks, only elite Cruiserweights make any impression stepping up and Bellew isn't a big Cruiser. March 4th is going to be a slaughter and will be viewed in the same light as Haye/Harrison, Khan/Salita and Calzaghe/Manfredo. It's a waste of time and money for anyone watching
