Yes, the black Uriah Heep of boxing will have an anabolic meltdown at some point. And it will be ugly. When your brain is as small as his (look at his skull shape) and with the media pressure and alleged PED usage... something big is going to happen at some time. AJ is Vesuvius (except more humble, obviously) waiting to erupt. I can see him beating a partner to death in some PED induced break down. Whether it's Eddie Hearn remains to be seen
Did you really just imply that you can tell his brain is small, because of the shape of his skull?
Er yes, the volume of a receptacle is normally commensurate to its dimensions. Unless Joshua's skull defies the law of physics.... in which case I suggest we have a real superman on our hands.

yeah, reggae, because you're exactly the kind of person that can make a neuroscientific analysis of exacting accuracy, just by looking at a photograph....

I can understand why people brand Joshua as fake but can also understand why he does it. For example, the media play on the story that he still lives in a flat with his mum. The same flat that he grew up in as he claims to have no interest or need for a glam lifestyle, it apparently keeps him humble and hungry although ten minutes later you may see him in a top of the range car wearing designer watches.
I dont grudge anyone enjoying the results of their hardwork, in his position id be in the same nice cars etc but it contradicts the image thats portrayed at other times. Theres no consistency to it all. I dont doubt that Joshua is a genuine nice guy but i think that sky have backed him into a corner and something will blow back on them all at somepoint. By that point he will have made even more money and make even more again when his 10th book has a better story to tell.

Humble? Yet spends all day posting photos with his sponsors in them on private jets and beaches.
A gentleman? I though his behaviour during the haye v Bellew fight showed more of his real side. He wanted to see Haye humiliated despite knowing he was injured.
A top heavy weight? Remains to be seen but we'll find out next month.
His fans? Generally AJ fans rather than boxing fans, nothing wrong with that at all but they do talk massive amounts of ill informed crap and I think that puts me off him too. It's bitter I know but I almost want him to get his arse handed to him just to shut them up.
The saviour of boxing? Well in terms of getting the public back interested in boxing and raising its profile him and Hearn have been a great team and done a fantastic job. I just wonder if I'm grumpy about this and liked it more when I was following a niche sport, although I'm really enjoying some of the boxing out on these days.
I think I'd warm to him much more if he proves himself at the top level because then my boxing snobbery will be able to help me feel like I'm supporting a genuine talent rather than an overhyped cash cow.
Just my honest thoughts.
He is finally the heavyweight boxer with discipline who understands PR and is outgoing. Its very clear the whole persona is manufactured but the great thing is AJ follows it to a tee and has been doing so for so long now that this maybe who he actually is now.
This guy will take HW boxing back where it was 20 years ago and his endorsements etc will once again make the HW boxing champion, who used to at one time have the richest prize in sport , back in the top 5.

Well that and the moronic drivel he regurgitates parrot fashion at every interview, yes!

I hope he succeeds, but I've less than zero interest in anything he has to say. Just too boring.

I believe Wayne Llewellyn got Ko'd by Lightning Lee Murray when Llewellyn tried to take liberties in sparring

That must have been a tight squeeze. He's a big bloke.

It does'nt really matter if he's humble , or horrid , a nice guy or a can't ,, Because its highly unlikely he's gonna pop round your house for a bicky and a cup of tea . When he retires he'll be living and mixing where most can't afford to go .. What matters is can he fight , and is he true heavyweight champ stuff .. This we don't know because , up till now he's been spoon fed , after the next fight we'll find out ,, If he wins the net and the papers will be buzzing and everyone will be singing his praises , they'll want to make him the first president and tell stories about how they met him at there local chippy once .
If he loses , its gonna be , well i always knew he was a bum , and when Tyson gets hold of him he'll kill him .

Definitely it seems we don't see the real Joshua personality. He says what he thinks we want to hear, and someone tells him what to say. And that is boring.
I ignored all his fights prior to Whyte as he was taking on skittles! And many of these "fights" were preposterously main events exploiting the gold medal.
Really enjoyed his war with Dillian Whyte, how he responded after being hurt and how he fought through obvious fatigue. Fatigue is one thing but continuing a fierce battle to score a brutal and decisive finish is another, and this was a very good sign.
But I like his dedication to fitness and he seems to genuinely intimidate his opponents. I also see some counter punching ability, on the front foot, because when Martin and Molina actually tried to produce something is the moment he delivered the kill blows. A sign of maturity.
Obviously he's taking a couple of levels' step up in his next fight, which will tell us something.
One thing, I just wonder is he as big as people think he is. As he has built himself up from being a fairly narrow guy. Will his size be such an advantage, versus an obviously much broader guy in Klitschko?

Pretty much this, I think he's got his head screwed on and knows his value as a brand and that's why he's a good boy, saying theat, all the guff going on with Haye Bellew was equally as boring after a while, as long as AJ does his talking in the ring that's all that matters.

I met him for the first time at the Bellew fight and I could feel his size, his strength and some sort of aura with a feeling of real menace. It took me back to chatting to Mickey Vann the week after Bruno v Lewis where he said that Bruno is big and strong, but there is a feeling, something you just sense when stood near Lennox. I did not know what he meant but 22 years later, I get it.

I do think he has more agility and is lighter in his feet than Lennox.
Get what you mean though I don't think we will ever see a heavyweight champion as imposing and accomplished as Lennox.
Lennox, in his lean and mean days, seems more naturally broad and strong than Joshua.
If Joshua does develop all the way - and for this we can only speculate - I think he will be the better combination puncher of the two.

Sorry I meant I understood what Vann meant as I felt the same thing he described when talking about Lennox. There is an aura, something you cannot describe, just a "feeling" when stood with Joshua. He exudes strength, power and devastation, and I say this as a cynical observer who is still undecided about him,.

I actually think hes a decent enough fella. Seems up for a laugh. Pretty much a normal 28 year old nowadays or whatever age he is. I dont think its all a big act...just his professional face. No different to when most people go on tv. Dont think its particularly different to how he is in real life tho.
Only thing i ll say is i think hes a bit dim. Comes across like a dim guy thats read up on some stuff and now thinks he knows what its all about. Like a dim guy that thinks hes smarter than what he is.
Always had big doubts about him from the start. And still do to an extent. Couldnt get past all the muscle. Thought he,d gas badly but looks like with the modern training techniques/nutition or whatever their doing nowadays seems not that big of a worry.
If he beats klitchko comfortably you ve got to say theres not much out there that can dethrone him or stop him dominating for years. Parker/ortiz been average in the last few. Haye looks finished as a top contender. Fury looks like hes finished or best days behind him anyway. Wilder will go over first against joshua. Joshuas not that much better than him but he is better. Think wilder would fold first. Looks like he,d beat the rest. Really fancied haye to beat him...just the wrong style for joshua...but thats not gonna happen after seeing him against bellew. Probably too small anyway.
Fancying klitchko in this fight tho...think fury just made him look worse than he is because of how unorthodox he was. But joshua for me looks a bit predictable. Klitchko likes predictable.
