(Clue : he never fought Tyson)
Sounds very Eubankesque
It's not Eubank - but good attempt.

Another clue - he was a heavyweight
Obviously a British one if he said "pub"

I didn't guess which British heavyweight.
Could have been Michael Sprott or Henry Cooper for all I knew

I thought it was Bugner. HW, who said "Pub," who never fought Tyson but was articulate.

You are correct, sir, which is interesting as GF was obviously no Wille Pep or SR Robinson.

Another guess but Joe Louis ended up skint.

Failing that, Joe Bugner???

Yuss! Probably wouldn't have got it without the extra clues to be honest.

Bit of a longer one:

"Hagler talks about coming from bad times and says things like "That's all I know" and "I fought my way up and I'm not going to lose it" but that's rubbish. He's now earned $45m in the ring, and he's still saying "I'm not going to lose it".

Do you really think they say - in the 14th round, when they're out on their feet with one round to go - "Oh Jesus, I have to go back to Panama where the rats are running around eating the arse off me?" No! If the other guy's in front of you and he's better than you are, then that's all bullshit."

First clue: never fought Hagler nor anywhere near middleweight at all.

It was a guess - something about the quote suggested a British or Irish fighter (maybe saying a*se instead of a*s LOL - and the reference to the 14th round meant it could be much later than the mid 80's :-)

"I become a different person when I enter the ring. That's where I conduct my business. And my business is beating up people".

Clue #1 - he was involved in the Ring Magazine "Fight of the Year" on more than one occasion....
