No way can he get down to middleweight anyway.

He looks like a warmed up corpse at the weigh in!
Could only focus on that Tecate girl next to Buffer. Wow.

If he gets by GingerHead, 3G will go up for that massive payday.

He can generally take a hiding. This is the biggest fight, huge amount on the line in terms of pride. If he gets the weight right, he's going to give Canelo problems. He's got some really nice moves to get inside,i like how he switches southpaw and throws a big left hand. That's what basically did Andy Lee. He walked through everything Lee had and smiled when Lee landed his big hooks.
I don't think it's a mismatch IF CHAVEZ GETS THE WEIGHT RIGHT, but that is a massive IF.
I guy who doesn't live the life and was himself a known weight cheat getting down to a 5 year low vs the biggest weight cheat since Chavez Jr himself - I think we'll see a Pac vs DLH, Cotto vs Geale, Tarver vs RJJ type affair.

Reckon Chavez might do the weight well enough to go the distance, but very hard to see him winning imo.

Chavez doesn't LOOK particularly bad. We will have to wait until tonight to see how vicious that cut was though !

Chavez looks so much taller but it won't be enough. Still if there's one fight that Chavez Jr should put everything into, it's this.

Anybody know of any phone friendly lakes to go fishing? Surely there must be somebody on Facebook or twitter with a decent rod? Some DM's would be appreciated

I don't rate Chavez Jnr at all. The whole episode where he was 'given' Sergio Martinez's title left a bad taste for me, because the Chavez name was bigger than the Martinez name. Chavez Jnr has never been a champion in my eyes because of that.

Lemieux is a beast when he's in this gear, if there's any sign of distress he's a terminator

It's developing into a good fight, this. Reyes has some chin and he keeps throwing punches, but looks like Lemieux has got a second wind.

I bet there better and higher ranked fighters who wouldn't have taken those shots and crumbled

Chavez is getting battered. It's every bit as one-sided as I thought it would be.

It's almost like all involved decided, let's milk the shite out of this uncompetitive match up and show just enough

What was the point except to end some social-media argument. Canelo has had harder sparring than that.

i woke up needing the toilet, should have gone straight back to bed after catching the last half of the lemieux fight. can't believe i still had to listen to kenny effin bayliss shouting his usual pish in a fight where nothing happened where there was no need for a referee . at least he didn't spoil the fight like he has countless others ,chavez managed that on his own.

mano o mano , more like mano o couldn't be arsedo .

Ive gotta say as much as I was disappointed in Chavez Jr, I quite enjoyed that, I thought Alvarez was immense, he's really improved to an all round boxer, I expected Canelo to dominate so I'm not surprised in that aspect but I was surprised how little fight Chavez showed for battle, the only success he had was with his flurries which Alvarez dictated and encouraged by backing up into the ropes after realising Chavez wasn't interested, Canelo started off fast for a change and was really loading up early, the punches were that accurate that I thought Chavez might not make it into the 5th

Canelo has always been an old head and body for his age and been mature beyond his years, he's achieved a lot an been in with some great fighters, the Mayweather fight come too soon at 22 and I doubt he'd ever beat Floyd but he's definitely improved, he's got everything , as I said a real all rounder, the way he puts his punches together, his strength, his toughness, engine but it was ring generalship that impressed me most tonight

I'm trying to keep in mind how bad Chavez was but I think after the fast start in the 1st round, Alvarez made him feel his power and made him think twice and concentrate on not getting hit again

Theres a lot of knowledgable guys on here, even on CS but some guys get hung up on previous losses as to why a fighter wont win a certain fight but I think Alvarez is a perfect example of a fighter improving with the experience of fighting world class opposition

I wish him and his team would cut the bullsh1t with Golovkin though
