Aussie Damien Hooper 12-1 will take on US based, Russian born Umar Salmov 19-0 on the Pacquiao-Horn undercard.
Kevin Barry came across Salamov when Joseph Parker was sparring Wlad Klitschko in the US in 2015. In recent times Salamov has been working under Barry and fought in NZ on the recent Parker card.
Salamov is certainly a step up for Hooper. But although still only 25, Hooper has been wayward and now has to make up for wasted time with some challenging fights. This will be a fork in the road fight for him, no doubt.

Jeff Horn will begin sparring Australian based southpaw Czar Amonsot next week.
“I think Czar will be great sparring for Jeff,” said Horn’s trainer Glenn Rushton.
“He’s been undefeated for years and is a former Pacquiao sparring partner. He’s tough and aggressive and fight fit.”
Horn will have his last sparring session with Liam Paro today after working with him for the past 3 weeks.
Horn’s team are also negotiating with Zab Judah to come over and spar Horn.

Pac says he's not under estimating Horn (in a totally unconvincing way

).

Some of the undercard fights have been added to Boxrec:

Shane Mosley Jnr 10-1 versus the unbeaten local David Toussaint has the making of a very interesting matchup.

Some interesting undercard fights...not the highest profile guys, but solid match-ups.

Anyone thing Horn has a chance? If it goes to the score cards I don't think so but Horn could knock him out.

I know very little about Jeff Horn, but over the next few weeks I'm gonna watch a few of his fights and see what I think of him and his chances. Right now I'd go with Pac of course just based on reputation alone, but if I see something in studying Jeff Horn that changes my thinking I'll post it in here.

I just watched Jeff Horn's fight with Randall Bailey. I know he's had a few fights since then, but unless he's improved drastically the Jeff Horn I saw in that fight is going to get eaten alive by Pacquiao. He fights like a Michael Katsidis or Ricky Hatton, but isn't as good at it as those guys were in my opinion.
I'm thinking Pac gets his first KO win in years.

38 is old in boxing terms. Particularly when you have fought as a pro for about 22 years.

Pac has still looked pretty sharp in his last few outings though. The Pac I saw last time out against Jessie Vargas would have an easy night against Horn. He'd have to have slipped a whole lot since last November. I don't think that's very likely.

True. We don't have to wait much longer to find out.

For what it's worth I wouldn't mind seeing Horn win. I've never been a Pacquiao fan for various reasons, and it's always good to see a young star burst onto the scene with a big win.

He came over to NZ on the Parker undercard last year. His punches were fast and crisp. That's the only time I've seen him fight. He has a chance of winning, bit at this stage of Pac's career - a win is not going to open all doors, so to speak.
