Yep, that's a good call. While not in the same league, Hopkins performed similar acts against Pavlik and Tarver

Hey, they were huge wins. Especially Pavlik who had just come off beating taylor twice. The fact he has pissed his career and life away diminishes it in the modern era with people who may not know or who forgot the build up, but at the time, that was a cracker, and still is.

Jermain Taylor never had much look with old Pavlik, did he?
If anyone’s life went downhill more than Pavlik’s it must be Jermain Taylor.
Is he inside now - either jail or mental prison?

Good call, Villoria had had a couple of bad defeats and was the underdog if I remember right.

Ali Liston is a very good call. Pity it’s cloaked in mystery.

That guy Mayweather fought 4 or 5 fights back. The Argentine? Not Maidana. Maybe not an Argentine....but a Hispanic. I thought that guy was very good. Still fit, very strong, in his prime, fully motivated.
I woke up the next day and Mayweather had done him by lopsided decision. Impressive.

However after the fight we got to find out Bute wasn't top class imo. Great win for Froch but still

I think froch ruined him, he had looked really good in some fights.

I'm a bit skeptical as Andrade, whose like c class at world level, should have had him stopped if it weren't for the ref giving Bute literally 20+ seconds to recover from a knock down. He was gone. Bute was quite protected but he had a good record in terms of undefeated and a champion with several defences

I'll let you have the first fight but Forrest was robbed in the rematch

Got to say, Villoria’s name sounds vaguely familiar, but I have not heard of either of those guys. Was Villoria mid-90s?

What about Carlos Monzon? He must have done a couple of A-listers handily?

Or what about Hagler vs. Mugabi? Mugabi was feared, I think.

Mugabe gave Hagler a good fight until Marvin broke his heart. I'd say Hagler Hearns is a good one for Marvin. Yes Monzon routed Benvenuti in the second fight.

Gatti vs Mayweather - okay, Mayweather was a pretty hot favourite but he made a solid multiple weight champion look absolutely terrible.

At a lower level - Graham vs Johnson.

Burns vs Gomez, Burns vs Mitchell

Norris vs Leonard.

What about mayweather v hatton?

Mayweather was expectung his hardest fight with rickys relentless pressure, but mayweather just dominated the fight even before the ref deducted a point from hatton.

Then the finish wasn't a brutal KO like manny did but clinical and probably the best check hook you will see out there

Hopkins vs Pavlik, and Hopkins vs Tarver

I had Hopkins beating Jermain Taylor but thats not to say that the fights weren't close, I think on the night Taylor fought at a very good level. Pavlik then went in and showed hmself the equal of Taylor, so I think its justifiable to say that Hopkins win over Pavlik deserves to be rated very highly.

Tarver had just emerged from completing the trilogy with RJJ, and Hopkins, moving up in weight, was not expected to outclass the bigger man in the way he did.
