I've got no grind with Eddie. He's made a lot of money for fighters, so for me, he's a lesser of the promotion evils. I just don't like that promoters exist as they do I guess. The Bentley comment wasn't aimed at him personally, just the situation.

The three shows were within the first hour (on two different tvs/channels). I was there for about two hours. Five delicious pints.

End of the day people saying he's not known in the States, well he's not going to be is he, he's never fought there.

Hatton had to go over there, have some fights, build his profile, show his personality, his fighting style and his fanbase to the US audience and then eventually he got the massive fights against Mayweather and Pacman.

The same can be done with Joshua, definitely. They just need to get him over there fighting and on the buildups, chat shows etc, the US audience would lap him up methinks. Lack of world class opponents will be an issue though, but they can still hype the Wilder fight I'm sure given enough effort and cheesy build ups.

The lack of opponents is a huge deal. Hatton had two crossover superstars to fight and draw attention off, and Lewis was a contemporary of Holyfield, Tyson, and old Foreman. Who is around to help boost AJ's profile in a comparable way?

Joshua is very fan friendly and I think he can become a solid name in the US, but the lack of good opponents and general enthusiasm about boxing in America are working against him reaching grander heights. He would build his US profile more by fighting there, but he'll make so much money staying in the UK that it may not be worth it.
