Caught up with the other world title fights in the Far East today. First time watching the guys in the undercard

Daigo Higa looks legit and at 21 has the potential to be a world champion for a while. Very aggressive fighter with natural power in both hands. The weight class does look weak and I'm not sure how good Henandez was. He did win a vacant belt in his last fight. He would rip Zou Shiming apart IMO. I have noticed Andrew Selbys next fight is a WBC eliminator so they may collide in the next year.

Ken Shiro looks like he has very good fundamentals. I wonder if he is a left handed orthodox. He didn't seem as effective with his right hand. He measures distance well and was chin checked in the last couple of rounds and didn't fold under pressure.

Lopez will be kicking himself when he watches back he didn't show any urgency until the late rounds.

Not much today though. Yaegashi got smashed in a round. I had a soft sport after he fought a prime Gonzalez and went out like an absolute warrior. Sad to see today.

Naoya Inoue looked outstanding again he needs to fight better opposition now. There is talk of a HBO and USA debut in September I hope it is a legit opponent as superfly had some brilliant match ups in the pipeline.

Yeah think Yaegashi had his last hurrah in that hard win over Tecuapetla last year. Seemed to do it on guts and experience although I feel Yaegashi hasn't been elite level since he contested back to back fight of the year candidates with Porpramook and Ioka, late 2011-early 2012, winning the first and losing the latter.

Too many gruelling fights and one day you get blasted out.

Happened already, on the domestic level, to Yasutaka Ishimoto this year in his rematch with Kuga.

Ishimoto vs Kuga III is booked for later this year, can't see past Kuga there, but I like both guys and their first one was great.

Elite or not Yaegashi has been one of the most fun fighters of the last decade. Interestingly Takayama seemed to get out before he got the treat Akira got today.

Think Yaegashi and Ishimoto have been to the well too many times.

Lots of great fights from them. Sad to see them get knocked out early. So Ishimoto is probably saying he was stopped prematurely.

IMO Yaegashi wasn't as good after he moved up from strawweight. Don't think he was a genuine flyweight although he won a title which was taken from him brutally by a prime Roman Gonzalez. Definitely going down to junior flyweight gained him another year of world title paydays although it was only a matter of time,
