I don't have any skin in the game between a Mexican and Puerto Rican fighter or even really a black vs white guy for that matter.

But it does make it a lot more fun and interesting for me knowing that other people really do care and some group is going to be Very Upset.

I can assure you when a Mexican is fighting they cheer for their own.
Same for the Brothers [African Americans], same for the Puerto Ricans, The Germans, The Russians the whole lot of them do it I've seen it with my own eyes at all of the big fights.

I dislike like because it makes a smart fan who knows there fighter no chance but they still pick look silly and stupid.
How can debate with a guy who says Walsh would beat Davis or Liam Smith would beat Canelo how can I take you as a fan seriously. Just saying

There's a difference between rooting for a guy and thinking he'll win.

I supported macklin vs ggg, but knew it would be monumental effort for him to win. True to form he got smashed up. One of the great body shots

If you're coaching a boxer you're pulling for him... If you're his manager you're pulling for him for financial reasons... Maybe you know him, or have met him, or have something in common with him, or you just like him as a good person... It IS outrageous.. It's terribly unfair to human beings.. Johnson was the last American black man to get a shot at the Heavyweight Title for a generation because people wanted the Heavyweight Champion to look like them. And yes it is racism and nationalism when athletes are denied opportunities because of their color or national origin.. or they're cheated out of fights that they won like Kovalev and Lomachenko.. Athletic competitions give people an opportunity to demonstrate fairness and sportsmanship.. They shouldn't be used as a rallying point for racism or nationalism.. There's a song that goes "We'll give a cheer for the Fatherland... Long may we reign supreme... And we will shout til the echos ring, for the glory of Germany" ... And another that goes "In Dixieland I'll take my stand -- I'll live and die in Dixie" ... Those feelings are sick. Your loyalty should be to God and not to a race, territory, ideology, country, gang, or cult.

Remember the movie "Saturday Night Fever" when John Travolta and his white partner won a dance competition and Travolta's character was extremely upset over being declared the winner??? He walked over and presented the prize and trophy to the real winners because he knew prejudice was the chief rational behind him and his partner being tabulated the winners... That's exactly the way human beings should feel.. You shouldn't covet something that's not really yours and belongs to somebody else.. We should try to demonstrates a strong sense of justice and fairness in everything we do... That's not the way of the present world we live in.. But it's a theme of many books, songs, movies and children's bedtime stories... It doesn't mean in the face of all reasonable evidence you should support them. I could live on the same street as broner and still think he's a cant and not support him.

everyone roots for their countryman at big fights cause most of the crowd are casuals for want of a better word, the hardcore watching at home will be hoping for a good fight

A noble and sophisticated sentiment but thankully not one shared by our ancestors, or they may have been wiped from the earth long before we ever got the opportunity to exist. If we project that theory to its logical conclusion, we would show no favour to family members over total strangers. That could make the reading of the will a lot less predictable.

I have my favourite fighters and they come in all different sizes, skin colours, and nationalities but it is rare for me to root against the Englishman whether I expect him to win or not ... unless of course his opponent is also an Englishman.

I can imagine myself being an Englishman, but I can not imagine myself rooting for Bellew, but I would root for Froch.
As an Englishman with African ancestors, I would always root for Joshua, but never, never, never for Chisora.

Being Afro-American I would always support Spence, but never Broner.
Being American Latino, I would always root for M. Garcia, never for D. Garcia.

What has Bell-end done to offend you?. I like him. He talks a lot of crap in that marvellous comedy scouse accent, but his heart is in the right place, he comes to fight, and is open about his limitations.

I have a lot of time for Delboy too. He's not gifted with great ability but he is a true warrior who will fight anyone, anywhere, and even if they beat him they will know they've been in a fight.

I don't tend to dislike boxers. I even like Deontay despite the fact I'm always laying into him on here. Those that I most admire though aren't necessarily the best fighters, the most pleasant personalities, or the the most interesting speakers. I like guys who aren't scared to fight anyone people like Dylian Whyte or Dominic Breazeale are right up there in my estimation.
