Kessler was great, and he fought Ward in Oakland. The fight was stopped on cuts caused by headbutts which were ruled unintentional, and at the time I thought they were. I guess you've got a point. As I recalled the fight, I thought Ward the better fighter that the favorite afterwards but now I want to watch it again. I guess holding and head butts that might be unintentional did not make the impression on me that the low blows did.

Also, Ward has always seemed sour because he was not a bigger star, but he would never credit his opponents which actually dimmed his own star. He handled Froch by being a lot stronger infighting than Froch thought he would be, but Froch--who can be a very egotistical ass himself--was very gracious and said Ward was the better man afterwards. Ward didn't say a thing about Froch as I recall that gave his opponent any credit.

I'm becoming more critical and losing my respect for Ward the more I think about it. Ward fought twice in the Carribean early in his career. Otherwise he never fought out of the US, or even California/Las Vegas. He fought Froch in NJ and acted like he had traveled to Britain as I recall. Other than that fight he won the super six in Oakland. Now he gets the benefit of being the house fighter again and wants to be No. 1 PFP?

Kessler's comeback vs. Skoglund I won't miss and if he has much left he'll win but like a lot of guys he should stay retired.

I would enjoy seeing someone like Gvodzyk, Smith Jr, Beterbiev or Alvarez legitimately kick SOGgy's ass. I wanted Barrera to beat him. I wanted Krushedner to KO him in the first fight.

SOGgy has grown on me not because I especially like his style or his demeanor but rather because of the hate that he has cultivated. I love the way he makes his haters squeal like pigs for months on end.

SOGgy is the P4P baddest man in boxing at this time. He is not pretty. He is not popular. He is not the most skilled or the most gifted.

SOGgy is just a pit dog who refuses to lose.

Ward is a dirty fighter and a yellow-bellied coward for 90% of his career.

Well... we all like fighters for different reasons. I already liked Wilder, but all the hate has made me even a bigger fan. However, if I had not liked him in the first place, I'd probably be on the hate wagon as well.

Lomachenko is the best... Crawford is certainly better than Ward...and so is Russell... Golovkin is better than Ward...and so is Joshua.. I would rank Kovalev well behind all of those, but ahead of Ward for certain... He out-boxed Ward in 2 fights so far... Ward was brilliant at dirty fighting.

Ward got a win over a guy who defeated SOJ in their previous fight and gassed out after beating him for at least 6 rounds. That win will always remain tainted, because the ref allowed all those low blows and stopped the fight instead of penalizing Ward and letting Kovalev recover.

Besides, Kovalev has never been as good as the 5 guys I mentioned. He barely throws any uppercuts and hooks, his balance is not good and so is inside work.

I'd have Canelo, Crawford & Lomachenko over him but I can see why people would have him Number One.

Two disputable wins over a tough slugger should be respected but the three names above have done more, in my humble opinion.

Ward is brilliant but a tad protected (home fights & favoured reffing).

A dominant win over Stevenson could make him The Daddy. & I think he would handle Superman easily. But until he does......

Krushedner's inside work was good enough to land a fair number of low blows. The difference is SOGgy never stopped and did a Meryl Streep every time a shot landed on the belt or below. He also did not act like a pro soccer player trying to draw a foul while Krushedner repeatedly hit him in the back of the head all night. He simply pointed out to Weeks a few times who properly ignored it for the most part.

Krushedner was saved by Weeks not cheated by Weeks, and the Russian had been looking for a way out of there since early in the sixth. Weeks simply finally obliged him.

The first win for SOGgy was also Krushedner's fault. He failed to finish and faded before the last half even began. He lost a razor thin decision that he can blame only himself for letting get away.
