Benn may have made those comments at the time being fed up of the daily grind, and already being a millionaire who didn't need this shite anymore. Being around the gyms again has relit the fire he had when he was a kid who just wanted to fight, same for Collins. They are fighting men, and in better shape than 90% of 30-40 year olds, so where is the harm? And as I said previously, there are seriously medically unfit people fighting unlicensed every week now and coming to no harm.

It's basically just two old warriors having a scrap. Both at thew same stage in life, and both well out of their prime. I'd watch it, I expect it would be slow & technical, but overall enterataining. I wonder if this will draw the liked of Eubank & JC out.

There is nothing wrong with legends type matches, so long as they are equally matched.

Im hearing that this fight is going ahead at Bristol City Football ground end September, however both collins and benn have failed to get licenced so looking at an oversea body. not sure if this info is 100% buts its chatter.

As for the fight, let them do it, it's not as if they want to fight younger guys it's a one off thing.

Hopefully this bombs and gets poor figures. Otherwise it sets a dangerous precedent. If a few million are clearly on the table then it wouldn't be long before we saw something like Fat Naz vs Hatton or Bruno vs audley

..benn is in good shape fast and still hits hard...but collins would take him......i think theyve left it too late 47/48/49 would have been better.

If it does take place it should be a ten rounder of two minutes and 16oz gloves

Benn is loaded by the mid 90s he had 20 houses and shops.he basically got his dad to put all his ring earnings into houses....basically the froch model before froch

Thought the whole overseas licence thing had been stopped by BBBOC

Saying that they could do it under something like BBU (British boxing union) and have ex pros / decent young kids on undercard

Apart from divorce and a small interest in Charlie, I'm sure that Calzaghe isn't faring too badly.

Based on not a lot, I reckon that Calzaghe has spunked a lot of his moolah. And not just on acting lessons and his short lived promotional career.

Has had same house in Newbridge fora few years now. Still runs every morning and has the number plate "Boxer" (I think it is) on his car.

I found it interesting that Nigel Benn was talking to Chris Sanigar at the 02 on Saturday, hes from Bristol isnt he? I know im putting 2 and 2 together here
