Fury's jab was terrible in stretches vs Wlad. Especially the southpaw one to the body where he sticks his chin up on a tee.crusader wrote:I think hand speed (certainly not foot speed, edge for Fury there) is about equal, and to me that's another raw physical talent anyway. I haven't really seen a particularly effective jab from AJ, and he certainly didn't control Wlad or Whyte with it to the extent that Fury controlled Wlad and Chisora.

I thought it was good for the most part: quick, snappy, and scoring points. Fury can look awkward at times though...

But, he won....Should I write something about Wlad's rule....Of course, not....Everyone knows, here on the forum, about Wlad's decade of ruling.....gilgamesh wrote:Because he wasn't in a fight with Wlad. He was in a staring contest.ValMar wrote:Yes, but Fury was not dropped by Wlad.gilgamesh wrote:

I've never placed a bet on any fight, and even if I did that wouldn't be the kinda thing that would make me hate a guy.ValMar wrote:I suppose you lost a "big money" betting against him. I donot want to be misunderstood, I do not like TF's behaviour, but he can attract a lot of new fans for boxing. Gilgamesh, this is an example of exaggaration.
I hate Tyson Fury because of his comments about women, the fact that he's an unprofessional prick that both won and gave up the title without a fight, the fact that he sings like a jackass after he wins sometimes. All the stupid antics that some people like about him, that's what I hate about him.
The only thing I'd love more than seeing him knocked unconscious would be to never anything about him again at all.
I can't stand Deontay Wilder either, if they were to fight each other I guess the only thing I could root for is that they both pummel the sh*t out of each other for 11 grueling rounds and then both hit each other with an intentional headbutt at the same time which sends them both tumbling out of the ring unconscious and leaves the commission no choice but to rule it a no contest. That way neither of those pricks even gets a win out of it.

I know about Wlad. I know about Wlad's title reign. I also know Tyson Fury's win wasn't that impressive because it was a god awful staring contest that I refuse to even dignify by referring to it as a fighter.ValMar wrote:But, he won....Should I write something about Wlad's rule....Of course, not....Everyone knows, here on the forum, about Wlad's decade of ruling.....gilgamesh wrote:Because he wasn't in a fight with Wlad. It's the worst Boxing match I've ever seen.

Interesting, I agree with you 80 %, but imagine HW division with TF & DW, and without them. Difference, drastic difference....gilgamesh wrote:I've never placed a bet on any fight, and even if I did that wouldn't be the kinda thing that would make me hate a guy.ValMar wrote:I suppose you lost a "big money" betting against him. The Heavyweight division would be a lot better if we had a WBC Champion that actually defended against Top 10 opponents and a Lineal Champion that did anything other than cocaine while sitting on his ass.ValMar wrote:Interesting, I agree with you 80 %, but imagine HW division with TF & DW, and without them. Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
Yeah, it's difficult to say either of them is adding any excitement to the landscape. I think Wilder would knock out Fury too.
Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
SaadOffTheDeck, believe me, Fury has a lot of fans around me. It is interesting, Balkaneros, generally speaking, are not very fond of British boxers (only exception was Lennox Lewis).....SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Yeah, it's difficult to say either of them is adding any excitement to the landscape. Did he buy coke off of them? I could see how that sorta thing might make you think of him as "Just a regular kinda guy"ValMar wrote:SaadOffTheDeck, believe me, Fury has a lot of fans around me. It is very difficult to explain, but I will attempt to do it, concisely ----Have you seen the match, guys ? The big Brit ("very cool fool") toyed with Klitschko..Yes, it is time, Klitschko is champion and gentleman, but he is not interesting at all....This new guy is very, very funny....gilgamesh wrote:Did he buy coke off of them? Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
He is funny, he toyed with paying customers in histories worst title fight.
Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
I've seen every significant Boxing match of the last 20 years pretty much. Klitschko is infinitely more interesting than Fury.ValMar wrote:It is very difficult to explain, but I will attempt to do it, concisely ----Have you seen the match, guys ? I mean, if he counts as active, then it's not even close.

He doesn't.BitPlayer wrote:I mean, if he counts as active, then it's not even close.

Klitschko behaves like a gentlman, but there are a lot of casual fans waiting to root for someone like Fury. There were many comments after the fight, something like -----What a big piece of fool, he is good for boxing....Go ! Fury, go !!gilgamesh wrote:I've seen every significant Boxing match of the last 20 years pretty much. Not just pretending he's active, we're also supposed to pretend he wouldn't need a fork lift to enter the ring.gilgamesh wrote:He doesn't.BitPlayer wrote:I mean, if he counts as active, then it's not even close.

How is it ever good for any sport for it's Champion to become a drug addict and stop competing for 2 years after reaching the peak of his success?ValMar wrote:Klitschko behaves like a gentlman, but there are a lot of casual fans waiting to root for someone like Fury. Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
I would like to see him facing Jarel Miller (big and strong American HW) first..........SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Not just pretending he's active, we're also supposed to pretend he wouldn't need a fork lift to enter the ring.gilgamesh wrote:He doesn't.BitPlayer wrote:I mean, if he counts as active, then it's not even close.
Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
He probably wouldn't choose somebody that dangerous upon coming back, but if he did I'd be down to see it. I think Miller could take him. Miller's fat too, but at least he stays active.ValMar wrote:I would like to see him facing Jarel Miller (big and strong American HW) first..........SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Not just pretending he's active, we're also supposed to pretend he wouldn't need a fork lift to enter the ring.gilgamesh wrote:

Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
Klitschko just should have attacked him, instead of waiting patiently from distance, Tyson Fury was planning from start till end to win against him on points.
Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
I think he has figured out how to use his size properly, can pump the jab consistently, keep his opponent on their toes with feints, and be elusive. But if Fury was 6' 3" with 79" wingspan, he would probably be like #9.
Re: Is Tyson Fury the most skillful active HW ?
Even at his size his footwork was the best in the divison, if he was that much smaller it'd be so far ahead of anyone else he'd be a one hell of a tricky bastard to beat.Lackeos wrote:I think he has figured out how to use his size properly, can pump the jab consistently, keep his opponent on their toes with feints, and be elusive.
