I think you're wrong from the first sentence. Firstly, Chisora is someone of note. He's not top 10 material, maybe not even top 20, but a top 30 win is a lot more than a lot of other people have (like Hughie and Ruiz for example).

As we found out with Joshua vs. Klitschko, looking gassed in a fight does not necessarily reflect someone's fitness. I believe that Whyte is very fit, as we saw going into round 12, but during the fight he shipped a lot of punches.

As we have already established in Parker's most recent fights, it's quite unlikely he'll go through anyone at the moment. If anyone that comes through the Fury camp will tell us, is that they are generally technically astute, and smart operators. This has got a UD/SD written all over it.
It's pretty cheapened when most people think Whyte should've lost.

Against Chisora? Perhaps. Many thought that Parker should have lost against either Takam or Ruiz, but he got the decisions. Chisora got a judges decision against Pulev, despite as good as losing every round.

Most people's most people. Unfortunately it doesn't count for much. As much as I would like to see more consistent scoring, the win is on Whyte's record and not Chisora's. That being said, it was hardly a robbery. I wouldn't be sat here complaining if Chisora was given the decision, or a draw.

Whyte lost to Chisora. And he isn't a puncher, otherwise he would have taken out the unmissable Del Boy. He has nothing going for him but the memory of a single punch he wobbled AJ with. But Whyte/Chisora and Joshua/Klit have answered all questions that one punch raised.

Where do I start with this?

Whyte beat Chisora. Your opinion does not change the history books. If you want your opinion to count for something, become a scoring judge.

Chisora also managed to take a top 5 heavyweight, Pulev the distance, so I'm not sure what point it is you're making. Because a fight goes the distance doesn't mean it was a terrible performance. Fury showed that vs. Klitschko, Parker showed that against Cojanu etc.

What question did Whyte/Chisora and Joshua/Klitschko answer?

Pulev did a hell of a better job on Del than Whyte did. Going the distance isnt much of a deal, but going life and death and looking close to being stopped at times is.

Whyte was hyped as a puncher going into that fight, but it was Chisora who looked like the banger.

Where do you start with this? You don't start. Chisora went 12 rounds with Pulev in a horrible fight. So what? So did an exhumed Kevin Johnson. Lots of bad fighters have gone the distance with Pulev. What does it prove?

'If you don't like a decision, go become a judge' is among the most cretinous arguments I've ever read. At least we know now what sort of mind rates Whyte.

There's no point pretending Whyte Chisora wasn't close; any one of three results would have been acceptable but to suggest Chisora was robbed is nonsense.

The fact that it was close is bad enough for Whyte.

Why is it bad enough for Whyte? Chisora was lauded as the gatekeeper of the heavyweight division. I don't think anyone is pretending him to be anything else. Whyte got the win, and that's all there really is to say about that. Move on. I think we're all hoping that Whyte will fight against the next level up, and then we'll see if he's up to the task.

As far as Whyte vs Chisora goes, this narrative that Chisora was robbed is beyond absurd. Anyone that thinks that, I urge you to re-watch the fight and score each round. The majority of the middle to late rounds, Chisora took off the opening 2 minutes and stepped up a gear in the final minute (a clever tactic to catch the judges eyes at the end of the round). I personally scored the fight one round to Whyte, but there were several round which could have been a draw. As has been rightly said, the fight could have gone either way, and there was little argument for either outcome.

Let's operate with the facts here. Whyte beat Chisora. The record books say so. If your opinion says otherwise, then just say that. Don't band it round like it's a matter of fact. You want your opinion to become fact, go become a judge. It's most certainly not cretinous to suggest so.

My point was, there was no point. Whyte didn't take out Chisora, and that counts for absolutely nothing. You think that Whyte should have knocked out Chisora inside the distance? I think Pulev should have also, but neither did. What does it matter? Absolutely nothing.

I don't think Whyte is a big puncher. The fights against Lewison and Allen support that. The one punch against AJ I think is nothing more than an anomaly, and should not be made a big deal of.

Your stubborn refusal to concede that for 130 years there has been boxing corruption, incompetent judges, and famously controversial decisions that inspire never-ending debate among boxing fans, is making you look stupid. It's embarrassing. 'Pernell Whitaker didn't beat Chavez - they obviously drew with each other, the judges said so! Mike Tyson was clearly ahead of Buster Douglas going into the 10th rd - don't believe me? Check the scorecards! Judges are never wrong! I thought Manny Pacquiao won every round against Tim Bradley, but apparently Bradley was cunningly outboxing him all along, so says the judges and we can never question their wisdom and integrity.'

"The record books say so". Dear god.

People don't rate Whyte because he made hard work of Chisora, who has been on the slide since Haye cracked him. Then Fury beat the stuffing out of him. The trend has been downward, and it took Whyte to make him look good, for the first time in years. Probably why Chisora was up for a rematch and Whyte wasn't. Most people can see the significance in all this; you can't, for whatever reason...

The fights you mention were nothing like Chisora Whyte. You entered this debate with the attitude, (or so it seemed to me), that Chisora clearly won and was robbed. I think most disagree with that.

Whyte isn't a world beater but I don't think he's as bad as you're making out and there was every reason why Chisora may have been more up for a domestic scrap on box office as chief support to Joshua than on yet another continental away day. He's always blown hot and cold to an extent.

It was super close, though Chisora did the most damage and I felt he edged it. I was surprised at how much he was able to hurt Whyte...

I don't know the details of the others, but Joshua offered him peanuts, and WIlder didn'tt give him enough time to train for it, and with Hughie's health problems, it'd be mad to cut corners.

According to Hearn on Twitter the offer was £600,000 plus PPV that is far from 'peanuts' for someone who turned down a British title fight.

Listen, I'll level with you, I'm far from convinced of judges scoring, especially in the last 12 months, but there are just some cases where the fight is close, and any scorecard (within reason) is a possibility. The Whyte - Chisora is one of them fights. To attribute these scorecards to corruption or incompetent judges is either mentally deranged or extremely unfair.

Unfortunately, whether you like it or not, the scorecards are the ones that count, and not yours or mine opinions on scorecards count for anything. Parker could well of lost both the Takam and Ruiz fights had there been three other judges or the fight took place elsewhere. I personally had him beating Takam by one and Ruiz a draw, but I also know other people had Parker losing both. In the end, all it is, is a conversation piece, nothing more.

I think you'll find people may not rate Whyte because he failed to put away Allen and Lewison, not so much against Chisora. All Chisora's defeats have come against good opposition, which is largely why Chisora is described as a gatekeeper of the division. The only reason why Chisora was so desperate for the rematch was because off the back of the popularity of the original, there's potential for the rematch to headline somewhere, and probably make some decent money.

I think Hughie was probably offered more to fight Joshua than he was versus Parker. The fighters that turn down Joshua generally want a bigger slice of the big pie, but what they fail to realise is that Joshua is the one that drives all the interest. Exactly same thing happened with Chisora. Offered more money to fight Joshua, but instead opted to fight for EBU title against Pulev for fraction of payday.

After what happened last time with Fury vs Parker, where the champion had to find another ranked contender on such short notice and leaving it with such a one sided contest, it just makes more sense to have a good replacement lined up.

Whyte and Joshua had a good fight when they last met, and if Whyte fought Parker it could be good in two ways :
1) Whyte wins - A big world title unification re-match against Joshua, a grudge from their amateur days, the second fight in a potential trilogy.
2) Parker wins - comparisons between him and Joshua become better/clearer, he beats a strong contender, he beats a British based boxer and potentially starts interest building between him and Joshua even more.

I agree with your first point, but on the second point I don't think a direct comparison between the two would be subjective.
Firstly I think Whyte didn't take the AJ fight as seriously as he should have, and that has been mirrored in his own words as well.
Secondly Parker is not the puncher AJ is so preparation would be different and Whyte would expect to go 12.
Whyte would be in better shape and with a belt on offer, a lot more motivated.

You can't honestly believe that he didn't take his break out fight on PPV against an Olympic gold medalist seriously. He's only saying that because he got his head smashed in. His conditioning was fine in that fight: he showed a lot of heart and went deep with AJ in what should have been a completely one sided fight. everytime a boxer says they didn't take the biggest fight of their career seriously you have to question it. If they can't take that seriously, when are they ever going to take anything serious?

I am also not convinced he didn't take it seriously. Not only was it his first big fight, he was headlining PPV and probably receiving life changing money. Even if it was none of that, it was a genuine grudge match. Whyte v Chisora was fake beef. Whyte v Joshua was genuine. You can tell because there was no 'respect' after the fight.

Very valid points.
I have been trying to find the clip where Whyte was interviewed about two weeks after the AJ fight, when he claims he should have taken it more seriously. Someone else may know the one I am talking about.
I would have never mentioned it if I hadent seen that.

It's alright you don't have to find the clip I've seen the interview. AJ has always said he'd like to fight Dillian again and so it's Dillian's job to keep that payday alive. If he doesn't say stuff like that then everybody knows he gets smashed in the rematch as well. That's why I doubt the Chisora rematch happens unless they pay him an absolute mint. He knows he was lucky there. He's got himself into the position where he can fight the champions so expect him to fight muppets and nobody's and say that he had a bad shoulder and that he hadn't been training properly before and is a vegan now and has a new strength and conditioning coach blah blah blah until he gets his big fight.

You know, it's what he's supposed to say.
