I was thinking the exact same thing. On top of his refusal to stop it he took 20 seconds to administer the second 8 count in round two. It's like they grab these guys from the nearest bar on the way to the arena.diddy wrote:His ref is gonna get Guerrero killed. Stop. The. Fight.

Guerrero has taken too much damage. He really should retire.
His chin and legs are both gone. You can tell he wanted to continue and it looks like he could have gotten up five more times but what's the point?

Punch resistance is totally gone from a damaged brain. I fear for his future.

Same. He should not take one more punch. Ever.diddy wrote:Punch resistance is totally gone from a damaged brain. I fear for his future.

The way he stopped Guerrero after such a long layoff and coming up in weight was impressive but Omar Figueroa was getting tagged by way too many lefts.

If Spence has a tune up here in Dallas, I wouldn't hate Omar for the sacrificial lamb.hulkmaniac wrote:Danny Garcia vs Omar Figueroa?

It was almost as if the ref had a bet on Ghost was doing everything he could to not stop it. The guy was going down every time he got hit cleanly.
Re: Boxing on 07/15 boxing is stacked
Spence would annihilate Omar.

Sad but true, he doesn't seem to have a brain anymore... His guts behavior can't surpass his brain threshold.punchoutsb wrote:Same. He should not take one more punch. Ever.diddy wrote:Punch resistance is totally gone from a damaged brain. I fear for his future.

Props to Figueroa. Surprising result to me. Guerrero kept getting caught over and over with the same uppercut.
Anyway, Figueroa could make some noise at 140.

WTF is Max on about? If Corrales is a Welterweight, Castellanos is a Jr Welterweight. Not a Jr Lightweight.
Re: Boxing on 07/15 boxing is stacked
Corrales gained 18 pounds! That's a load for someone at 130...
Smith weighed 190 and Barrera 187; they'd be solid sized HWs back in Jack Johnson's day.

Corrales getting beat up. Dropped twice in the fourth.

I disagree with that decision, but it was a close scrappy fight so not really an issue. I thought Castellanos nicked it though, especially with the knockdowns.

First really solid fight of the day. shame it ended early.
Re: Boxing on 07/15 boxing is stacked
Davies-Syrowatka on the Eubank undercard was good. Competitive action with each guy hurt, and then a last round KO from the Pole when he was down on all the cards
Re: Boxing on 07/15 boxing is stacked
Berchelt well ahead going into the 12th, but Miura has done some good late body work
Re: Boxing on 07/15 boxing is stacked
First time seeing Berchelt and was quite impressed.... he did seem quite exhausted for a fight he controlled almost completely through out....

What a night
Re: Boxing on 07/15 boxing is stacked
Castellanos got f'n screwed. That stoppage was horrific. Cut was well below the eye and there was only 2+ rounds left. Terrible.
