Ya, strange to act like that fight hurts his standing.
If he fights Mikey at 135 in the next year he will get torn up.crusader wrote:He was toying with him and didnt lose 15 seconds of that fight. Punishment? He got hit with pretty much nothing meaningful. Hes just one of those guys who marks up.
He definitely got hit. A right hand caught him clean.gilgamesh wrote:Yeah the only damage to his face came from headbutts from what I could tell. I didn't see him get hit with meaningful punches at any point.crusader wrote:He was toying with him and didnt lose 15 seconds of that fight. Punishment? Ok...he got hit with a right hand. So he should never fight a dangerous opponent?lookingaround87 wrote:He definitely got hit. Whatever. He was not impressive, imo. He missed a lot and took too many flush shots. He showboated at times and Marriaga busted him in the chops.crusader wrote:Ya, strange to act like that fight hurts his standing.
Ya, and its not like he got floored by a right in the way Mikey did against Martinez.gilgamesh wrote:Ok...he got hit with a right hand. So he should never fight a dangerous opponent?lookingaround87 wrote:He definitely got hit. A right hand caught him clean.gilgamesh wrote:

Yeah. As a fighter it certainly wouldn't be my personal demeanor in there. No matter how overwhelmingly better I was than my opponent all that would ever translate to is me finishing them earlier. I'd always be all business, all the time. My favorite fighters usually are guys like that.Covfefe wrote:As good as he is, fights like that leave me cold. Tapping him on the head and stuff? I've no time for it, I'd rather him just get him out of there several rounds earlier.
Marriaga landed very little of note. This is like that time where you said Dimitrenko was lighting up ParkerTanzio wrote:Whatever. He was not impressive, imo. The outcome was never in doubt but that was the case from the moment this was announced.
Of course he should. He should fight Berchelt.gilgamesh wrote:Ok...he got hit with a right hand. So he should never fight a dangerous opponent?lookingaround87 wrote:He definitely got hit. A right hand caught him clean.gilgamesh wrote:

He was plenty impressive. This fight doesn't raise or lower his profile though. It was just another chance for people to see him. He's still in the same place rankings wise he was heading into the fight, there's just more people that got a chance to see and know about him now. That's all tonight was about.Tanzio wrote:Whatever. I'd be down with that. I'd be down with him fighting Mikey Garcia too. He's got a ton of options.Tanzio wrote:Of course he should. He should fight Berchelt.gilgamesh wrote:Ok...he got hit with a right hand. So he should never fight a dangerous opponent?lookingaround87 wrote:

I would prefer he clean out 130 prior to going after Mikey. I absolutely believe that Mikey pummels him into submission at 135 at this point.gilgamesh wrote:I'd be down with that. It's a 50/50 matchup to me him vs Mikey.Tanzio wrote:I would prefer he clean out 130 prior to going after Mikey. Lomassiah got nailed hard playing that game in the corner.gilgamesh wrote:For the record. The Tapping on the head thing Loma does, I don't care for, but I was amused at the moment he backed himself into a corner and dared Marriaga to come in and attack him. I've never seen that before.
Crusader, don't embarrass yourself again revealing your obsession with me.crusader wrote:Marriaga landed very little of note. 100%. Just like his compatriot Vitali Klitschko. Look at Vitali's face after Kevin Johnson fight, who barely landed a couple of jabs in that fight. Marriaga at least landed one good punch, Johnson didn'tcrusader wrote:He was toying with him and didnt lose 15 seconds of that fight. Punishment? He got hit with pretty much nothing meaningful. Exactly. Lomas number one goal right now is to put people into seats and behind TV Screens, ragardless whether they are fans or haters.gilgamesh wrote:Whether you like the showmanship or not, you'll watch the next time he fights. There might be a few people who are drawn to that sorta thing, and the people that REALLY don't like it will be rooting for him to get decked because of it, but they'll still watch.
