The McGregor supporters are pointing to his youth, one punch knock out power, cast iron chin, being Irish, being an animal, hoping PBF will be completely confused by his style and that he has scary looking tattoos, and of course his amateur youth experience.
In defeat they will say he would have won in 4 ounce gloves.
I don't expect it to be an exciting fight, Floyd as always will be ultra cautious, and will make Conor work for every second of every round by walking him down while not throwing much. After the first 3 rounds the Irishman will be tired and bewildered. For the next couple of rounds McGregor will be hit at will by stiff single shots before he gives up without Floyd having taken a shot.

It's all down to Floyd really. Stayed away from the knock out bet and just went big on Mayweather full stop. 1-4 is silly silly silly. By comparison, Lomachenko was 1-100 the other week.

Do you think the 2 year lay off will effect Mayweather at all?

No-one in the post trail you quoted was saying McGregor will win.

I've never understood why people have to be at decidedly polar opposites. Yes, Mayweather should easily win, but that doesn't mean he'll uppercut McGregor into the ceiling of the arena.

you were talking about mcgregors hard punch and good chin in MMA as if it held any relevance to a boxing fight, its apples and oranges mate, expert v novice, it takes a lifetime to become great in boxing and you think a 6/7/8 week camp is gonna get a novice ready to take on an elite level boxer ?

I think mayweather would of needed a 5 year lay off and in that time not set foot in the gym for McGregor to even have a 10% chance of winning this fight.

I think you're mixing me up with someone else. I didn't say anything about McGregor's punching power or that he is going to be able to take on Mayweather. Chill out and re-read everything.

If I had spare cash to fling around I'd lump on it too.

Put essentially all I can free up. It's not going to break the bookies but should pay for flights home next year for me and the Mrs. I'll be nervous as hell watching, when you've got a lot riding on something logic can go out the window but everything says this is the bet to take.

Yes of course but he is fighting McGregor not Canelo.

We're not talking about how he will react to shots; simply that he has taken big shots before and his chin held up.

Let's also not pretend that Mayweather is a big puncher at 154 lbs and 40 years old.
Mayweather is not a big puncher for an elite light middle, for McGregor he will seem like King Kong.
Look at McGregor's sparring, he is still using MMA fighters and not all of them are men, and of course the Omagh youth amateur champ Tiernan Bradley!
This may give him some confidence but it is no preparation. He can train as much as he wants in the swimming pool but it won't help him in the boxing ring.
