How can it go to tech decision after 7 rounds when the cut happened in r2!?!?!

68-64 seemed off the deep end. I can buy the 67-65 scores... I guess.

first the fact they ruled it a headbutt is suspect... i'd like to see it

second Margo quit when the fight got tough... the cut didn't get worse...

The timing is def suspect and the card proved Carson needed a clear stoppage to win...

I can see 67-65, but it was a blatant case of 'the hometown guy is super tired and looking in trouble'. The cut had been there all fight, and now when Marg is spent and taking punishment it becomes too bad.

The cut looked a left hook to me. And yes, it didn't get worse 5 rounds later... marg just got real tired and was losing.

Marg seemed to know he was winning....it was all smiles right away.

The tech dec rule is utter garbage.

It looked like it, carson caught the eye flush with a left and it opened. Perhaps they clashed heads momenta before - would need to see the replay.

Thank the omnipotent figment of my imagination that I did not bother to watch that piece of sh!t gifted a TD. Maths are pretty simple though; cut eye + point deduction for head butts = TD.

When they stopped it I could see anywhere from the fight being even to 68-64 Margarito.
The stoppage was weird but Margarito wasn't in any serious danger.
He always looked like that when fighting. Off balance and getting hit flush.

Both guys looked on the Cotto/Kamegai level.
Best option for Miguel. Unless they drain Lemieux like Geale, Cotto will get hurt.

Just watched the fight - scored it 68-65 Carson.

Couple of close rounds but favoured Jones's work rate and punches landed. Margarito was on the verge of being stopped.

Carson can feel aggrieved about that one. Poor judging and pull out overall.

Couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing yet, but watched the headbutt sequence. It looks to me like the original wound may have been from an accidental clash of heads, as Cheato immediately wipes his brow like boxers do when that happens. Meanwhile, as he should, Jones keeps fighting and lands a solid left hook that I believe opens up the original wound.
