Agree wholeheartedly with CP. Alvarez would be a fool to try and grab - incidentally I don't think he will. He's never done it before and Golovkin is one of the best inside fighters of his generation - he will eat uppercuts on the way in.

I just cant see canelo pushing GGG back. Theres no signs he hits hard enough against a genuine MW. I think hes going to habe to be able to stay in the pocket for stretches counterpunching and make GGG miss to keep him honest. A tough ask.

I agree. I think Canelo is going to try going in and out.

Basically, like was against Lemieux. I'm actually dreaming about the fight and not sleeping because of it.

Good point. Team GingerHead figures that 3G is not that big a step up from the corpse of JCC Jr. They saw how 3G struggled with the size and quickness of Jacobs. They plan on coming in considerably bigger (weight-wise) than 3G and on out boxing 3G with superior speed and boxing. They figure that if Jacobs could take 3G's shots than GingerHead should be able to weather the storm and keep 3G at bay with what they consider better power and chin than Jacobs. They also believe that 3G has regressed.

They have miscalculated.

Jacobs boxed flawlessly and still lost to 3G. Jacobs is bigger, stronger, faster, quicker, more powerful, and at least as skilled as GingerHead.

The Mexican has a chance, but I think that they were goaded by their fanbase, the fear that 3G might lose, and their performances against subpar opposition to take this fight one year earlier than they would have preferred.

I have serious doubts about whether GingerHead could have defeated the versions of Brook and Jacobs that 3G overcame. I have no doubts that 3G would have completely decimated GingerHead's competition of the last year and a half.

One thing Im sure of is that somewhere Tuan Jim is eagerly hoping that he can start yet another triumphant 'see, GGG hype job' thread. Omg Brook was clowning him and still in with a good shot despite the broken eye! Omg Danny Jacobs just proved beyond doubt that GGG is a fraud!

Agree btw on Canelo fighting physically overmatched opponents (as well as notoriously chinny ones ). It's one reason Im not sold on him having major power at 160....

Brook is an interesting thought. I certainly dont think that hed have smashed brook up. Brook is a big welter who is probably suited to 154. Khan was always chinny, with a leaky defence. Hard to say of course. All hypothetical.

Considering khan has been stopped at every weight he fought at as a pro, the jury is out at best. Khan would have been well overmatched against GGG and lacks brooks firepower, physical strength and certainly his ability to take a shot.
