It saying anything that has t been said but fighters should be in the gym ticking over all year round so 7 weeks should allow you get in shape- 8 weeks is optimal I believe. So 7 should be fine.

It's nothing to do with the camp time, its the money. Hatton pretty much states they would have fought if the money was better, and that is regardless of camp time.

I thought Eddie was light on the money to start with and he must have as well because to be fair he moved a bit but ultimately all of the team felt notice was too short.
Sounds to me like Browne's team can't even decide themselves why they turned it down.

Plus, they've been going at it for weeks on Twitter, surely they'd have been doing at least some light gym work on the off chance it gets made?

Very well said, in this day and age there has to be a level of commitment in a professional sportsman's lifestyle outside of a 'training camp'.
It looks better for the sport and for their own reputations when these athlete's look and act like they should and like they want to compete at the very top level instead of suddenly needing X amount of time to get ready for a fight.

A stark comparison is Jenson Button in F1, he trained and still trains for Triathlons even after his competitive racing career is over. Michael Bisping in the UFC is another notable mention, taking a UFC title fight on less then a month's notice and winning said fight anyway because he trains regularly in the first place.
