You're weird for suggesting the hittable Hearns was a better boxer than Toney -- who easily boxed Iran Barkley to death -- a man who iced Hearns.

Talking about Roy Jones when he's ancient is nonsense... When Roy was 34 he won the Heavyweight Title... When Leonard was 34 he got steamed, creamed, and dry cleaned by Terry Norris... When Toney was 40 he beat Fres Oquendo for the IBA Heavyweight Championship... When Leonard was 40 he got stopped by somebody named Hector -- and that was his final exit.
I’m convinced you don’t watch boxing but read stats books instead as you’re forever a slave to numbers, ages, %’s

But your logic just doesn’t stack up well at all
Ossy, Ffs when you are in a hole stop digging. All of those fights can be seen on film. Leonard DID get humiliated by Norris, and stopped by Camacho at 34 and 40 respectively. Jones DID beat Ruiz when he was 34, and Toney DID beat Oquendo at the age of 40. Also at 34 Tommy was getting beaten by Barkley.

The only thing illogical is your frankly ridiculous reply to those irrefutable facts.
Again you’re too emotional and the point goes sailing by your angry head

Toney and Roy really shouldn’t be mentioned in the same breath as Hearns. You really do come out with some strange comments

I've seen ALL those fights and you haven't.. I've also been an amateur and pro and trained hundreds of raw amateurs from scratch.. What the Hell would I get out of reading stats??? ... Numbers back up arguments for people like you who don't know WTF they're looking at when they start comparing hittable guys like Tommy Hearns with James Toney -- and ignore the results they each got in their Title Fights with Iran Barkley.

Your logic is nowhere... It doesn't exist.

There is something very wrong with your brain boy... You can't comprehend.. I've seen both Toney vs Barkley AND Hearns vs Barkley.

Now THINK!!! ... WHO emerges as the best boxer among those 3 fighters, as you break down and analyze what happened in those fights???

And did Hearns ever seek fights with Mike McCallum??? ... James Toney sure did... He has a draw and 2 decisions wins to show for it.

You stupid jackass… You’re more susceptible to ANY punch when you’re weight drained… It’s evident from watching the fight that the punches that got Hearns in trouble in the early rounds were HEAD shots.. And in the 14th round a sweeping overhand right to the HEAD won it for Leonard.. SRL immediately thrust both hands in the air when he landed that shot – because he knew the fight was OVER!!! ... All that was left was clean-up work. When has Leonard ever scored ANY KO with a body shot. His 1-punch KO's are all head shots. He was never noted as the best body banger.

No you haven't, these are just ridiculous lies. There are people on this forum with pro records and they are open about it, but you have never fought and of course never provided one iota of verifiable information on your "pro career". You are really just making a fool of yourself with these claims. Why don't you name one single fighter you fought or one single boxer you trained?

Kalan wrote: 18 Oct 2017, 15:04 It wasn't such a great fight for me... Hearns looked badly weight drained and I couldn't believe he weighed in at 145... I knew he would fade badly.

The super skinny Hearns was a wide open target by the 13th round.. But to my surprise he out-boxed Leonard by a bunch and had the lead.. Hearns tried desperately to rally but he had nothing left. Leonard bided his time from 7 through 11.. He seemed to sense Hearns would fade down the stretch.. You can feel your opponents' strength, or lack of it, in a way your corner and the audience can't.. Or you can sense his lack of confidence.. Like Floyd Mayweather after the 2nd round against Shane Mosley.. Roger was telling Floyd to "box." Floyd was thinking "attack." ... Dundee was telling Leonard, "You're blowing it" while Leonard seemed to be thinking, "Tommy's getting weaker by the round. I'll wait, make him work, and he'll get worse and worse and worse."

Like Joey Maxim when he fought Robinson, "I could feel him weakening by the mid rounds. My job was to make him throw punches."
the actual people involved say different. hearns said he felt great, leonard said when dundee said that to him it got him to focus. but hey what do they know, right?

Anyone who uses the likes of Ali v Holmes as a measuring stick for either fighter is on the wind up. Same with other fighters... the one they like at prime age v the one they don't at 40.
