Anyway, it's better than a knee jerk ban without warning, I think you'll agree

People can dislike fury but you shouldn’t bring lies into the reasoning. I’m not a fan, but he’s not the worst champion in history, there are several worsegilgamesh wrote:"He's accomplished everything you can in the sport"LancashireLoyal wrote:Because im a fan of his, always have been and always will be.He has absolutely nothing left to prove to anybody,he's accomplished everything you can in the sport.gilgamesh wrote:Of course not. It wouldn't be ok if I'd threatened to kick his ass or something, no. I told him not to keep posting a video that was spamming the board. Thereby performing my function as a moderator.Horse wrote:Mods going around threatening people is not okay.gilgamesh wrote:I recall what you speak of. You were posting the video multiple times, and it seemed spammish to me. I haven't given you guff any other time have I?
Besides you used the key word there "Threatened" to ban you. I didn't ban you, and you got my message, and quit spamming the board with the video. So I'd say that was Mission Accomplished as a mod, and there were no casualties suffered.
All in all I'd say it worked out well.

Charles Martin wasn't a Heavyweight Champion in my opinion. He was a contender with a belt.Ossyrules wrote:Charles Martingilgamesh wrote:Name 'emOssyrules wrote:

Come back to me if you want more
I agree with a lot of stuff you say generally, but on this fury thread you sound like a hater, throwing reasonable achievements aside and just basically spewing nonsense imo
He absolutely does not.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Fury has a better resume than vitali.
He held a legitimate recognised title. He’s in the history books as a heavyweight world champion. I don’t like what boxing serves up with 4 belts, it is what it is.gilgamesh wrote:Charles Martin wasn't a Heavyweight Champion in my opinion. Even so though if you want to count cracker jack box Champions. At least Charles Martin had the balls to step in the ring and defend his title. Tyson Fury didn't.
Martin totally sucks balls, but defending your title and losing it makes you more of a Champion than winning your title in a staring contest, and then refusing to fight the rematch because you got too much cocaine up your nose.Ossyrules wrote:

If you’re saying worst unified type of champion then you might be right
Having the balls to defend and get completely cracked open by a genuine top level operator is gutsy in one sense, but it’s not how I rank who the best or worst is. If anything it highlights how bad Martin was
In that case, neither is AJ.gilgamesh wrote:Charles Martin wasn't a Heavyweight Champion in my opinion. He was a contender with a belt.Ossyrules wrote:Charles Martingilgamesh wrote:

I think you're letting your obvious dislike of Fury affect your judgement on his achievements. I agree he lets himself and the sport down on occasion but his achievement in taking the title shouldn't be dismissed as easily as you dismiss it.gilgamesh wrote:Martin totally sucks balls, but defending your title and losing it makes you more of a Champion than winning your title in a staring contest, and then refusing to fight the rematch because you got too much cocaine up your nose.Ossyrules wrote:

Tyson Fury is a disgrace to this sport, and the Heavyweight Championship.

See that's where you guys lose me in all this. You guys call his fight with Wlad a fight. It wasn't one.Tomasino wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Fury has a better resume than vitali.![]()
Harsh but when I looked at Vitalis record again, it's pretty close. As pish as the fight was, beating Wlad is a bigger win than any Vitali had.
Which is a fairly reasonable argument made without personalising the issue and resorting to insults as per previous input.gilgamesh wrote:He won the title against a long reigning Heavyweight Champion in the worst fight of all time. The Heavyweight Champion didn't fight, Tyson Fury barely fought. Barely fighting was enough to win the Heavyweight title that night, and he's never fought since all the while becoming a tub of lard, and talking all kinds of foolishness when he could've been defending the Heavyweight crown with honor.
My take on him is he knows he was the luckiest man on Earth to have caught Wlad in the state he was in, and knows he'd be exposed for the sorry fighter he is were he to defend his title, and that's why we've seen no more of him, and the first talk we're hearing of him to comeback is to face a shot old man with asthma.
That pretty well sums up how I feel about the man.
beating wlad is obviously bigger win than vast majority of hws had. when was last time there was a bigger win than a win over wlad? lewis over holy?Tomasino wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Fury has a better resume than vitali.![]()

If I personally insult somebody I mean what I say. So I either owe the person an apology or nothing at all. I owe Tyson Fury nothing.ewenhay wrote:Which is a fairly reasonable argument made without personalising the issue and resorting to insults as per previous input.gilgamesh wrote:He won the title against a long reigning Heavyweight Champion in the worst fight of all time. Which means that your opinion on Fury can't be seen as objective as you let your personal feelings cloud your judgement. Your views on Haye are in a similar territory although you show a little more restraint and objectivity in relation to Haye.gilgamesh wrote:ewenhay wrote:Which is a fairly reasonable argument made without personalising the issue and resorting to insults as per previous input.gilgamesh wrote:He won the title against a long reigning Heavyweight Champion in the worst fight of all time.
