Are you seriously comparing the above to the other stuff here?
Wow, that's Demented.
Sorry, I'm not that specialized in crap like you seem to be. I've just listed an example, compare it with other sorts of crap yourself.
You got one thing right; your example was crap.
Hard to believe that the good DoctorD seriously equates some of Ali's verbal foibles to the murderers, rapists, and general thugs that populated boxing's landscape since the sport was invented.

He must belong to that now dwindling legion of hardcore Ali detractors, or else he worships at the altar of Joe Frazier.

While I don't recall him being really bad, Nigel Benn mixed with some seriously nasty people 2 of whom were 2 of 3 drug dealers found shot dead in an Essex wood. Think I remember reading about Benn glassing somebody in a club too but compared to some of the people on here he's a bloody saint.

Eventually after smaller sentences he got lifed off. Lost to muhamed quawi in one of his prison bouts. :bag:
From 78' having not fought in 3 years. Fought the remainder of his fights at Rahway State Prison..

But why was he in Prison?
Looks luke he done afew stints for robbery and got in2 boxing in prison. Got out, back in for robbery and a hung jury on a murder charge. Continued his carrer inside and subsequently retried for the murder and found guilty. :bag:
Apparently, Qawi, was released from that very same prison in 1978 .. started boxing. This was his 17th fight. Imagine that going back to the prison you served time for a boxing fight.

Dwight Muhammad Qawi

Qawi was raised on brutally mean streets of Camden, N.J. He was convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to five years in Rahway State Prison.

He learned to box while at Rahway, and upon his release in 1978 at the age of 25, he began training at Joe Frazier's Gym in north Philadelphia and turned professional. He finished his hall-of-fame career with a record of 41-11-1 with 25 KOs.

At the age of 17, he was sentenced to 18 years in Graterford State Penitentiary for nine felonies including armed robbery. He was released after five years in 1988. The story of his final discharge has become legendary in boxing circles.

When the warden told Hopkins that he'd see him again, Hopkins replied, "I ain't ever coming back here."
I thought it was strong armed robbery rather than armed robbery :maybe:

James Page, welterweight champion, recently went to jail for a string armed robberies.

Charlie "the Devil" Green murdered three people. There's also a funny story about him going to watch a boxing match and being pulled from the crowd appear on the bill.

And I might be mistaken but I think Ruben Hurricane Carter was a bit of lad before he got stitched up.

Bruce Seldon did time for something before becoming a champion.

And Frank Bruno was in a home for naughty boys

A guy everyone thought was really bad was Tony Ayala Jr....

He was one of the most talented boxers EVER and a really nice, fun kid when he was in a good mood... But for some stupid reason nobody could ever figure out, he had to be a bad ass... He would punch somebody if they looked at him wrong... Instead of shining mouthy people on - you meet big mouths all the time - he'd hit them... He was told a number of times to let people be and ignore them... He couldn't do that.

He seemed to have very little common sense when it came to women... If they turned him down they were a whore, bitch, dyke, tramp....he took it personally... He had about 20 straight professional wins when he was still a teenager... The man would have made millions and millions had he kept his nose clean... He was money in the bank.

He broke into a women's apartment, tied her up an raped her... He did a very long stretch in prison... When he came out 17 years later he resumed his boxing career and started winning again in his late 30's... But he lost a couple to better fighters because that's too big a gap in experience to close... He broke into an apartment of 2 women and one shot him before he could commit rape or anything... He did very little time for that because it was just breaking and entry.. He got 10 years probation --which he violated by speeding, driving without a license and using heroin and got sent to prison again... He died at 52 of a drug overdose... What a waste of talent.

In a nutshell.

It's hard to think of many fighters worse than this guy.

The worst of the worst was Ruben "Hurricane" Carter. What brought that monster to mind is some fool here using some leftist Hollywood bs to try to glorify it.

Carter was a vicious multiple murderer that the leftist Hollywood crowd tries to glorify with their lies. Look up the truth about Carter - but don't try to find anything on google anymore because it is now censored and politically corrected.

http://graphicwitness.com/carter/

You can also see, and adjudicate, for yourself his fight with Joey Giardello online, the fight that Norman Jewison "re-enacted" in his 1999 Hollywood propaganda movie glorifying Carter as having been easily won by Carter but awarded to JG only because the judges were "racist".
