Who did you give the last round to?
Quigg

Valdez seemed like he was just trying to get through it honestly. He poured it on a little over the last 10 seconds, but I thought Quigg was more consistent in the 12th.

Too little, too late on my card though.

Rounds 7 and 9 were swing rounds too though, and I scored both of those for Valdez
Some were close I agree

117-111
118-110

Valdez via unanimous decision.

118-110 seems a bit harsh, but I can see 117-111 or 115-113 for Valdez as reasonable scores.

In all fairness Quigg's a very tough opponent even on the best of days, and considering that Quigg had a bit of a size advantage on top of it all. It was gonna be a tough night for Valdez regardless. He did well to get through it, and remain unbeaten.

Quigg's only previously lost once and that was to a World Class talent in Carl Frampton. Valdez just performed better than Frampton did against Quigg IMO.

Breakdown

Valdez was outboxing Quigg in the first round and catching him with solid power shots. In the second, Valdez was targeting the body and unloading to Quigg's head. Valdez was pumping a good jab in the third, making Quigg miss and making him pay. Quigg managed to land a few good right hands.

Quigg landed a very big right at the start of the fourth, with Valdez taking it well. The jab of Valdez continued to give Quigg a lot of trouble. In the fifth, a cut opened up above the left eye of Quigg - but Quigg was starting to land more often and rocked Valdez near the end of the fifth with a solid hook. Valdez held on and got out of trouble.

Quigg continued to push forward and rally in the sixth, looking to do damage on Valdez. There appeared to be an issue with Valdez mouth in the seventh. Valdez's mouth was bleeding, his mouth was open and it was said that he badly bit his tongue.

Quigg continued to do well with his right hand in the eight. Valdez was looking to turn th tide, but Quigg was the one pushing forward and letting his hands go. Valdez was rallying in the ninth, picking up the workrate against Quigg. He was digging hard with hooks to the body of Quigg and catching him upstairs.

Valdez continued to punish the body of Quigg in the tenth. It also appeared that Quigg might have a broken nose as his cut continued to bleed. During the eleventh, Valdez was really letting his hands go to outwork Quigg. Both fighters looked tired. Quigg landed a few hard shots that buckled Valdez, but couldn't put him down. Near the end of the round, Valdez rocked Quigg with a hard left hand and punished him until the bell.

In the twelfth, Valdez continued to outwork and outland Quigg, who was unable to close the show as they traded punches until the final bell.

Quigg didn't start later either.. Valdez deserved winner..

Valdez had had too many difficult fights, I think it's because he gets hit a lot. The Servania fight was tough for him too...

Valdez is what he is. He ain't a defensive wizard, he's just a good fighter who has to outfight you and outwill you sometimes. Thus far he's showed the grit necessary to do that.

This!

Not taking anything away from him.. But I'm looking at the next year or so. He'll likely fight 3 times this year.. His style isn't going to change.
