"Eddie Hearn" Noun; proper noun. Meaning: To screw and lie and cheat and be slimy.
It's clear that Yarde's team are trying to get Yarde to a world title shot without having to fight anyone significant. It can/will happen, as we have seen many times before.liamlion wrote: ↑13 Apr 2018, 15:53 It would make absolutely no sense if you were trying to protect a fighter towards a bumper payday or a shot at a second rate "world' title and had zero faith in your fighter... alternatively, it makes very real and obvious sense to any right thinking person in terms of development etc.
How you can possibly claim to be European or world level when you haven't even cleaned out your domestic rivals and proved yourself to be the best domestically? You simply can't.
It's a pretty shitty move to try and manoeuvre yourself up the ladder without challenging for British and commonwealth titles. Let's get it right, who has Yarde really fought of interest or note? We all know the answer. Sad really, as he could well be something special.

I think £9,000 for Dave Allen to box Ortiz is shocking money.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 06:01Why all the hate? Hearn pays his fighters and for the best part, promotes them very well.
Yes he does. He just talks too much, but that goes along with good promotion. I just don't like him that's all.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 06:01Why all the hate? Hearn pays his fighters and for the best part, promotes them very well.

People who work for Amazon, helping make the owner the richest man in the world whilst they have to piss in plastic bottles to meet targets whilst earning minimum wage don't have to do it do they? Oh yes they do they have bills to pay. £9k for fighting a top five HW is dog shit.maverick23 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 12:36Allen didn’t have to accept did he?!
All of the fighters I know that have worked with Matchroom over the years have been paid in full and on-time. With the exception of where Matchroom do PPV splits with fighters, FW tends to pay more for fights but it’s been well documented that in recent years they’ve had some examples where they haven’t paid on time. They’ve also gone out of business owing money to fighters.
I think you also have to appreciate that Hearn got Allen two shots at the Commonwealth title, despite him being well below the levels. In addition, the fight against Ortiz was not only a fight where he'll take a cheque home, but also give him excellent exposure, which greatly increases his earning potential later on.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 14:46People who work for Amazon, helping make the owner the richest man in the world whilst they have to piss in plastic bottles to meet targets whilst earning minimum wage don't have to do it do they? If they need to provide for their family then yes - they may have to do it.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 14:46People who work for Amazon, helping make the owner the richest man in the world whilst they have to piss in plastic bottles to meet targets whilst earning minimum wage don't have to do it do they? I'm not having a pop at Hern it's just seems like a small purse for fighting such a beastmaverick23 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 15:43If they need to provide for their family then yes - they may have to do it.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 14:46People who work for Amazon, helping make the owner the richest man in the world whilst they have to piss in plastic bottles to meet targets whilst earning minimum wage don't have to do it do they? I don’t disagree that £9k for fighting Ortiz is poor money but I still maintain that it was Allen’s decision and of course he didn’t have to accept. I certainly wouldn’t hold it against Hearn, or another promoter, for a fighter accepting a low offer. It does show he needs/needed better management.
Allen wasn’t contracted into accepting it, he was paid what was agreed in full (I’m assuming) and clearly doesn’t seem to hold a grudge for Hearn for the offer.
Does seem low, isn't Allen a big ticket seller too?mickey1975 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 17:28 My pal CLEARED 10k for cashfighter and never broke sweat. 5-6 for Ortiz is almost criminal!
He’s a good ticket seller now (I think his sister has really helped him out with it) but he wasn’t then.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 19:02Does seem low, isn't Allen a big ticket seller too?mickey1975 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 17:28 My pal CLEARED 10k for cashfighter and never broke sweat. 5-6 for Ortiz is almost criminal!
His personal ticket sales will be a back hander to top up his announced purse...Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 19:02Does seem low, isn't Allen a big ticket seller too?mickey1975 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 17:28 My pal CLEARED 10k for cashfighter and never broke sweat. 5-6 for Ortiz is almost criminal!
I don’t think he fought in Monte Carlo! Ortiz fought Malik Scott over there. His fight against Allen was well down an AJ card.
Someone offers you an amount of money to do a job and you say yes or no. Dave Allen wanted the fight and when he was offered it, took it. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.mickey1975 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 06:32I think £9,000 for Dave Allen to box Ortiz is shocking money.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 06:01Why all the hate?
