As per his agreement he has with the WBC, WBA and IBF, he will be permitted to fight Martirosyan, Canelo, Derevyanchenko and possibly also Saunders (as it would be a unification) before he will be ordered to fight Charlo. I'm not sure where the next WBA mandatory falls in the queue either. Whoever that is may also come before Charlo.

Charlo's best shot at getting Golovkin, would be to lure Derevyanchenko into the ring and try and leapfrog him to be IBF mandatory.
:TU:
The rematch with Canelo and the unification fight with BJS are above of any mandatory position. The ABC organization would get some fat fees from these two fights.

Within twelve months, the WBC will mandate a fight between their 160lbs champion and Charlo and implement deadlines.

Charlo will either be ducked or gain his shot at a member of the pound-for-pound elite.

And there's nothing anyone from this forum can do about it, since demanding that the American "must" overcome a load of hurdles beforehand, such as beating his fellow Haymon stablemate, Danny Jacobs, will inevitably fall on deaf ears.

And that's the bottom line!

No harm in boxing fans wanting to see good fighters test themselves against other good fighters in the meantime. Saying it will be ordered within a year is fine (which may well be longer if special permission is granted for a unification) - Charlo should really be getting 2 fights in before then.

Nor is there any harm in thinking others have done more to deserve the fight, or having less interest in a Charlo fight based on him not doing Jack schitt at the weight yet.

Of course in boxing, what fans want and what fans get are often two different things.

Completely agree with everything you've said.

I only disagree with those that choose to apply double-standards, whilst claiming that Charlo should not be given a shot at the WBC title under any circumstances without having defeated several universally-recognised top-ten ranked 160lb-ers beforehand, since the very same set of people often refuse to demand the same sort of stipulations of other fighters that they may favour.

If Gennady eventually agrees to face Charlo, the American will likely be considered as the third best opponent GGG has faced throughout the course of his entire career.

I’d like to see Jacobs fight Charlo, but would the WBC completely bypass Canelo who they still rate and will be available to fight again as early as September (assuming the Mexican doesn’t engage in a rematch against Golovkin… and GGG is stripped of his title for failing to meet his mandatory challenger - Charlo)?

WBC should not be rating Canelo, as he is not involved in their clean boxing program.

Also if gingerboy doesn't want to fight Golovkin In September I think the B plan may be BJS and this mean Jermall would have to wait.

Daniel Jacobs could wind up facing his former sparring partner Sergiy Derevyanchenko if the IBF elects to strip middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin of his title due to facing Vanes Martirosyan.

Meanwhile, Jermall Charlo is almost certainly going to be given a shot at the WBC world title within the next twelve months.

I don’t expect either Jacobs or Charlo to risk losing their big-money world title shots, by engaging in interim high-risk low-return type bouts. I’d like to be wrong though, since I’d love to see this fight.

Charlo-Jacobs would be a great fight, but considering that GGG is MUCH closer to retirement, there is plenty of time later for fights like Charlo-Jacobs, Charlo-Derevyanchenko, Charlo-Saunders, etc.

Now that he has lost a step, I dont expect GGG to be around much longer than another year or so.
