i think joyce would be an awful matchup for him.
He wont beat Joyce, fact. I think in all honesty Price as it stands he is going to carry on should fight someone like Bill Hodgson, Dave Allen or Tom Little no one else unless he wants to start from thre beginning and face the likes of Nathan Stevens
how much money is there in those fights? not a lot.
Maybe a bit against Allen, he sells tickets, but I wouldn't want to see that fight.

A good gatekeeper is a tough experienced, skilled medium puncher who can give up and coming fighters a good amount of rounds where they can learn something. Price is too hard hitting and chinny to fill that role IMO. Guys like Joyce, DD etc will either blast him early or get KO'ed themselves. So not the ideal gatekeeper. I don't know what Price has to offer really. He is domestic #5 for now. I can't see him doing any better than that and I worry about his health.
What he has to offer is an opponent with the skill set and ranking that he possesses.
He's not an ideal gatekeeper, but he is still a gatekeeper.
He is a name opponent and he brings a following and money.
He is relevant at domestic level and can't be ignored if he chooses to fight at that level.

If you were Joyce's manager, would you put Joe in there against Price? I wouldn't. High risk, zero reward.

I personally don't want to see that. He had a good go against Povetkin. Gave it his all and went out on his shield but it was a nasty looking finish and he can't be taking many more of them.
You don't think that he might actually win against the likes of Gorman, Joyce & Dubois?
When he starts getting starched at that level then there is more of a reason to insist that he quits.
So far he has only really lost at top 20 world level. Which isn't really such a bad level.
He has the power to trouble anyone, he showed that against Povetkin but mentally he's not got it and is shot. I think there's more of a chance than him getting hurt against these young, hungry guys than there is of him winning tbh.
the trouble is, he throws so few punches, for all his power. its like having the biggest cock in the world and being celibate.

Stuarty, Povetkin was probably a foot smaller than Price thats the only reason it went a few rounds. Povetkin couldnt get close in the early stages. Im not denying that Price doesnt have power, hes a big fella so of course he does, but if Povetkin was the same height it would have been over quicker.

Maybe not, but if Price goes after the British title then he will get opportunities.
If Hughie vacates the title to avoid Price then that will boost his reputation without even needing to do anything.
Every fighter who ducks him will boost his reputation and his enhanced reputation will surely goad a domestic fighter of some repute to fight him.
Ultimately he will get opportunities at domestic level and he has a decent chance of succeeding at that level.

dubois would smash price to bits despite his lack of experience. price is waaaay too gunshy, dubois would be given ample time to detonate punches.
That's my concern. He'll essentially be a proving ground for the youngsters. Very dangerous.

Aye he's so tentative now. He neglects his jab as well. With his size and power he should be dominating most fights on the jab alone.

Can't disagree there mate but there isn't gonna be a lot of guys bigger than him. He's one of the tallest dudes around. He doesn't make his advantages count the way he should. It's like he's beaten before he's even got in the ring nowadays. That's why I think it's dangerous for him to carry on in that mindset.

I really think Price needs to pick and choose who he fights at British level, dont go looking at these Eastern Europeans with patchy records. I think he could have a squeak at Hughie Fury and I would look to be fighting him, but fighting blokes in the Uk who are hand picked with crap records. If he could get a match up with hughie and beat him then look at commonwealth fodder.
Price will not get beyond that level, hes aint no Rocky Balboa

He really didn't seem like a gun-shy pussy against Povetkin, he was just in against an opponent who was too good for him.

Oh for sure he does. I rate his punching power at #3-#5 in the HW world. Given his height and reach, it is a huge risk for any HW, domestic or international. That's why I think most up and coming guys would avoid him like the plague. Why take the risk if it's not mandatory? And right now he is mandatory to nothing.

If they use him for 'noob' opposition such as Gorman, Joyce, Dubois etc then it ain't gonna end well for him.
He probably won't be used at anywhere near world level or even European level again for that matter and he's already reigned at domestic level before so what else is left for him? Apart from some more concussions and mediocre purses! It makes no sense carrying on IMO.
