Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson - 18 August 2018
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
The point is if FW or any other promoter puts on a show or a fight that is below par then they get slated an moaned about. When matchroom do it it's ok because of the fake beef an hype people aren't bothered it's me embarrassing. Seen a lot of good fights on Warren's shows aswell as poor fights. Generally only used to see mismatches on matchroom an that's why I canceled sky sports. From what I've seen it hasn't changed much
There is blatant bias towards the sky shows an fighters probably because people are brainwashed by the hype on the same way casual fans are

I don't think I've ever seen anyone defend the PPV modelling for Cleverly Bellew II. Brook Gavin gets filed under the 'good undercard, terrible main event' bracket.Wa1nuts wrote: ↑17 Jun 2018, 09:50 The point is if FW or any other promoter puts on a show or a fight that is below par then they get slated an moaned about. To repeat the point the criticism of FW is aimed at what he's serving up as a promoter. This year on BN I've had no Saunders, no Fury, no Flanagan, and as a fan that is poor. To make it worse there are now deals in place for BT only shows. So I'm paying FW £12 a month for essentially nothing. If you don't understand why that prompts criticism I don't know what to say to you.

That is a good point and I'd like to see Fwank respond to that on IFL.dirk2686 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2018, 10:15I don't think I've ever seen anyone defend the PPV modelling for Cleverly Bellew II. Well, you already know the likely response to an extent. He'd stick with the injury line for Saunders, (which nobody believes), and he'll maintain that Flanagan and Fury being BT exclusive is a business decision which works for boxing fans.JimJim2009 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2018, 11:56That is a good point and I'd like to see Fwank respond to that on IFL.dirk2686 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2018, 10:15I don't think I've ever seen anyone defend the PPV modelling for Cleverly Bellew II. As for BN I imagine he'll carry on the party line of it offering great boxing (when I cancelled I was told Crawford Horn and the Dubois English title fight were representative of this.)

No names saying he’s a good payer? Every pro on here!
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
Such a good payer that the vast majority of his big names have left him. A point you repeatedly ignore.
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
Jackson has tweeted from Belfast, looks like this one is on. Is there a press conference this week?

I think quigg would cost a zero more.
We wondered if BN was going down the drain in or around sept, the low-key MTK deal suggests it will keep running, but if the channel is to be a feeder channel for BT sport I can't see how it can keep going. How long before Dubois becomes exclusive to BT ?
If only you could fold a TV channel, walk away from its liabilities and start up again the next day, business as usual.

So this has been confirmed. Thoughts?
Pathetic fight for me. An echo of the bad old days when you'd be told about Calzaghe Hopkins/Jones/Johnson by FW after he'd beaten some no mark and then get served Evans Ashira or someone similar.

It's a poor fight. It will go similar to the Avalos fight.
I'm interested in paddy Barnes though. Good luck to him

Why would anyone buy a ticket for this?
I don't understand.
Don't encourage this garbage. Keep your money in your pocket.

x2
best way to work out the real plan is ignore what they say and look at what they do. name-dropping the big names and then lining up a much lesser opponent is one of the oldest tricks in the book

So is this on BN or BT? Not that it matters to me anymore as I’ve binned BN on principle anyway

Jackson is a tough larakin I`ll give him that, but he is stepping up levels here. Seems like a half decent bloke for a Tassie.

Undercard Update
Hall of Fame Promoter allegedly has today confirmed further undercard details for the Windsor Park event on Saturday 18th August, headlined by Belfast Hero Carl Frampton’s defense of his Interim WBO World Featherweight Title against Australian Luke Jackson. Frampton v Jackson will be broadcast live and exclusive in the UK on BT Sport.
An already mouthwatering undercard has been further strengthened with the addition of a Cruiserweight showdown between Steve Collins Jr and Steven Ward and slots for Irish stars Luke Keeler, Lewis Crocker and Marco McCullough.
The bill also features The Lineal World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury, who continues his journey towards reclaiming the World Title belts that he never lost in the ring and Double Olympic Medalist Paddy Barnes’ challenge for the WBC World Flyweight Title against Chrisofer Rosales.
In a surefire barnstormer, MTK Global Cruiserweights Collins Jr (12-1-1-KO4) and Ward (7-0-KO3) will clash with ‘Quiet Man’ Ward enjoying home advantage and looking to preserve his unbeaten professional record.
Collins Jr – son of two-weight world champion and Irish Boxing Legend Steve Collins – will be looking to make his mark in his first fight of 2018 having been narrowly denied the Irish title by a points defeat to Paddy McDonagh last year.
Dublin’s WBO European middleweight champion Luke Keeler (14-2-1-KO5), was highly impressive in securing the vacant belt with a points victory over Conrad Cummings at Belfast’s SSE Arena in April will make the first defence of his crown against a top rated opponent.
Further down the card, welterweight KO king Crocker (6-0-KO6) is looking to continue his astonishing start to life as a professional.
The Belfast boy has halted all six of his opponents to date inside three rounds – the latest feat a savage first-round stoppage of Adam Grabiec on the undercard of Michael Conlan’s homecoming.
Another local star added to the action is super-featherweight Marco McCullough (19-4-KO11), who is out for the second time this year after outclassing Arnoldo Solano on the undercard of Carl Frampton v Nonito Donaire in April.
McCullough has previously challenged for Irish, British, European and Commonwealth belts and is looking to continue his journey back into title reckoning.

Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson - 18 August 2018
Luke Jackson says he is 'feeling great' ahead of his title fight with Carl Frampton.
"I keep a diary of all my training, and today the message to myself was that I have the best job in the world," he said.
"I'm living my life on my terms, how I want to live it, and I'm creating opportunities that I've dreamt of.
"At the end of it, I wrote 'don't take it for granted' because it will all be over one day."
"I know of Carl. I wouldn't say we have a relationship, I respect him as a man and as a fighter. I'm sure we'll shake hands after the fight."

Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson - 18 August 2018
Frampton's spot on when he says Jackson representing Austrailia at the Olympics isn't much a big deal as the qualification standard isn't the best over there, I had a look through Jackson's record there and its thin to say the least, no recognisable names and plenty losing records, he even has a SD win over a guy who's about 4-3 and whose name is Will Young
Frampton looked as good as he has in a while against Donaire, did get clipped a few times but took the punches well and was well conditioned, fought a good pace and won wide, he hasnt had a KO in a while but I reckon Jackson's been thrown to the wolves here, different levels and I'd be pretty disappointed if Frampton cant put Jackson away by the halfway point

It's almost like he's a crap opponent and Frampton shouldn't be fighting him.handsofstone wrote: ↑13 Aug 2018, 03:40 Frampton's spot on when he says Jackson representing Austrailia at the Olympics isn't much a big deal as the qualification standard isn't the best over there,
