maybe but surely applying the logic of ortz now appearing better because of jenns w tonght leads to whyte and aj havng had an even bgger boost....since they beat a guy who destroyed dim w/o any of the issues jenn had...such as getting dropped and losing other rounds

At some point the eye test has to be used. There is no one in the heavyweight division with the skill of Ortiz. What hurts him is his late arrival on the big stage. He fought valiantly verse Wilder, and I think he’d be just as likely to win against any of the top fighters as they would against him.

Alexander Povetkin is an Olympic gold medalist. By the way, he had so much skills, he looked like crap against Malik Scott and David Allen.

Povetkin is skilled, but slow and comes straight forward. Ortiz has the ability to move which sets him apart from Povetkin.

I used to think so, but he just doesn't seem to have the fire needed to be a top fighter. I think he has the ability, but he's just not a natural enough fighter. I think he's a guy that would potentially lose some fights that he COULD win just because he ain't doing enough.

Povetkin is skilled, but slow and comes straight forward. Ortiz has the ability to move which sets him apart from Povetkin.

Ortiz can move, until he can't, from mediocre stamina, then he'd be a sitting duck for a late round KO vs Povetkin. I've always wanted to see that match and would favor Povetkin heavily.

Always seen Jennings as a good student of the game, slow starter, but has the fundamentals, however he doesn't have any standout talent. Little power, speed and size compared to the top.

Just watched the fight. Dimitrenko really doesn't react well when pressured. Zero inside game. Jennings is a decent fighter but given that he's giving up physical advantages to a lot of other heavyweights he really needs to fight with a bit more urgency. He has a habit of neglecting his jab and also has a habit of throwing single shots and leaving his head in the middle. John David Jackson needs to iron out those flaws and teach him how to keep his hands free and work on the inside. He did some good work up close but also allowed himself to be held too much. Despite those physical disadvantages, so many HWs are so poor inside that he could be effective just by doing the basics well when he's up close and staying out of harms way on the outside.

Wouldn't mind seeing him in with Trevor Bryan for that WBA belt, or the likes of Breazeale, Kownacki or Ruiz. Even a Washington or Molina would be OK to keep him busy.

Yeah I know what you mean. I think he's just too nice a person. When Dillian Whyte ambushed him with a verbal assault when he wasn't expecting to be confronted, Bryant was visibly taken aback by this crude oaf. I'm sure he wasn't scared as such but it really rattled him.

I get the impression that if Dill had tried the same thing on with a fellow a-hole like Miller, he'd have got back what he was giving, and it would have turned into a pushing contest with lots of verbal insults being exchanged and maybe even a punch or three.

Any of those guys would be an interesting match for Jennings. He'll never win a world title (maybe the inaugural Super-cruiserweight?) at Heavyweight, but he can make money and participate in some highly entertaining fights
