Re: Usyk - Gassiev on KlowdTV in the US

I have an almost shot-out, gave Gassiev only the 4rth.
I’d like to see this but not rating Bellew. Not based on him annihilating Haye.KiwiRider wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:06Gassiev is taylor made for Bellew too.TempleSlave wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:02 Gassiev turned out to be tailor-made for Usyk. End of the story.
Don’t be a smart ass. Usyk hasn’t look that good in literally any of his previous title fights, hence my comment.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:11 Pretty funny hearing that the #2 CW in the world only lost because he's tailor-made for the top guy.
What a ridiculous post. Gassiev isn't on Usyk and Briedis' level. Called it from the start that we saw the real #1 vs. #2 in Usyk/Briedis.
Gassiev honestly had the easier path to the title. Dorticos is irrelevant compared to the top 3 fighters at the moment.
Usyk was pin point perfect. Performance reminded me of what winky Wright did to Tito Trinidad. Similar clash of styles. Very valid that you are talking styles.TempleSlave wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:17Don’t be a smart ass. Fair enough, but Usyk has looked great throughout his career. His style, of course, he's going to get hit at times. He's also fought some outrageously different styles as a professional.TempleSlave wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:17Don’t be a smart ass. Usyk was better in every single aspect of the game. I was expecting a clash of styles and a competitive fight - probably mainly based on Usyk-Briedis fight. I assumed Briedis was a fairly similar boxer to Gassiev but I thought Gassiev more composed and possibly having more to offer offensively. I knew Usyk is super skilled and moved fabulously but I thought Briedis hit him a lot and therefore Gassiev has a good chance. I was wrongMexi-Box wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:32Fair enough, but Usyk has looked great throughout his career. His style, of course, he's going to get hit at times. I'd just say that Usyk had a stylistic advantage, not that Gassiev was tailor-made for him.
It was a clash of styles, but one side was significantly more experienced and using a better trainer. I wish we could see a 28-30-year old Gassiev against current Usyk.TempleSlave wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 19:09I was expecting a clash of styles and a competitive fightMexi-Box wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:32Fair enough, but Usyk has looked great throughout his career. Of course they’re not the same. I was really impressed by Usyk vs Glowacki and then when I saw him vs Briedis I thought he looked surprisingly hittable. I thought if Gassiev can connect as successfully as Briedis, he would give Usyk some serious trouble but Usyk seemed to have different game plan and fought a perfect fight. I was expecting things to possibly change in the later rounds but neither Gas had a plan B, nor Usyk would tire. I still want to see Gassiev vs Briedis which would give some answers to the speculations, plus would no doubt be a good scrap.
Haha man I think I’d never watch a boxing fight again!x2x wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 23:12 Amazingly phenomenal performance by Usyk. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before. Great sportsmanship too, refreshing contrast to the crap you see here and in UK. One thing surprised me, though, how little effect all of Ussyk's punches had on G.
If the fight had been held in Last Vegas the judges would have given it to Gassiev.
No need to over explain habitual bad assumptions. It is what it is.TempleSlave wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 07:14Of course they’re not the same.
