I think Okolie will step up to the better opposition and win a close (maybe controversial) decision. Hope I'm wrong.

There's a lorry driver who delivers to my work from Barnsley and I remember asking him last year if he knew of Josh Wale, he said he hadn't but he knew of Matty Askin, I thought Askin was from Blackpool but he's actually from Barnsley, apparently his old man is a bit of a face down there

The thing Askin mustn't do is "choke it" again like he did again Dickinson and McKenzie. Sorry if that sounds harsh, I like Askins, but IMHO he didn't put it all out there against those two boxers.
Good match up and should give us some answers about both of them. It made not be now or never for Askins but if he wants to box for a world title he's really got to box with confidence from the start. Okolie can afford to lose this and come again.

I had Askin nicking that 114-113 but either way that was fcvking woeful, one of the worst fight ive ever seen, made Okolie's fight with Chamberlain look entertaining, the holding form both guys was shocking , more so Okolie, he's just so raw, has natural talent in power and speed but seems to have a low ring IQ, always lunging in and draping his arms all over Askin like an octopus, you'd have thought someone so inept at fighting on the inside would try use his legs to keep things on the outside, use the jab and put more thought into that right hand that he kept trying with
He just kept throwing himself over Askin and was lucky not to get DQ'd with 3 point deductions, Askin was poor himself never used his experience and allowed it to get messy and looked equally as crude as Okolie, tough fight to score I had Askin nicking it but who gives a fvck that was shocking, Okolie is brutal if he doesn't knock you out
Gutted as I though this would be a show stealer

An ability to score this fight is an impressive achievement.

Had money on Askin winning so my opinion is probably biased but couldn't believe Okolie didn't get DQed

But losing a point doesn’t mean you lose a round, they could be scored 9-9.

i had it a draw, so w/o deductions wouldve beem 116-113 okolie, but i could defo have given him some other rounds too, seemed like a 116-113 to 117-111 type fight, then the deductions

Are you Akinwande?
Are you Askin?
I'm Askin.
Well if you're Askin, then I'm Akinwande!

I hope Hearn has a long hard think about Okolie as a Matchroom fighter.
On a bill with a poor undercard I was actually looking forward to this one, but how wrong I was. I had somehow managed to forget that for Okolie's reputation of being talented, he actually stinks the place out when he fights.
Askin did his bit to ruin it too, wandering into the wrestling without throwing punches, but Okolie has form for this... terrible show. I would be happy not to watch Okolie ever again.

Okolie shouldn't just be banned from to he should be banned from boxing.
He would never fight in tv again if he wasn't Joshua's mate.

That’s 2 Fights now where Okolie has stunk the place out.
He’s massively awkward with his size at Cruiser height/reach wise.
I thought Askin was equally as disappointing - he just lumbered forward similarly and tried nothing new.

Whilst he is winning he will stay.
If he isn’t shifting tickets, one loss and out I reckon.

Henry Akinwande and Johnny Nelson had the same issues early in their careers. I think both had to work very hard to shake off that negative impression and become more marketable. Although it was telling Akinwande quickly reverted to type when faced with Lennox Lewis.

I thought 3 point deductions meant you got disqualified anyway.
Were all 3 points for same thing? Maybe there's certain rules?
