why you say team aj could learn about ambitious matchmaking from team wilder, the team of a guy who 6-7 years in at 32-0 fought jason gavern, and who shelly said needed baby steps even when he was 30 years old and 33-0?

you just seem like a salty #hater sometimes
Mate, you’ve said this about twenty times in the last few days....
ickey I agree this has been posted too many times. Yet no one will point out that athletes develop at different rates.
George Foreman fought 30 plus bums before winning the belt.
Julio Cesar Chavez fought countless guys making pro debuts.
Fighters are moved at different paces to develop. Comparing the difference between a fast tracker and a slowly moved fighter needing development only works if we compare where they are now. Not 5 years ago

its totally relevant when mickey has said ajs side could learn from wilders about ambitious matchmaking. ajs been moved way more ambitiously then any other active hw, including fury and especially wilder.

even now, aj still has the best record with the most depth to it.easily hes fought the most top 10-15 guys atm and has another top 5 coming up. wlad, whtye, parker, povetkin, brezeale, takam, etc in just 5 years .

okay, so hearn should learn from wilders example about ambitious matchmaking? then aj should wait another 2 years before facing jason gavern again. and then aj could start with the 'baby steps' ( exact opposite of ambition) shelly said he wanted wilder to take at 30 years old and 33-0

ajs the last hw at the moment who should be knocked when it comes to ambitious matchmaking, and its even more laughable to say his side should learn from #teamshelly and #bombsquad about it.

it keeps getting mentioned cuz guys like mick keep saying funny things that warrant it as a response .

AJ has fought all these top guys and he hasn't even reached his prime yet, as you said Shirley told the world Wilder wasn't ready to fight Wlad when he already had around 30 fights and had been a pro for around 6/7 years. If AJ was to follow Wilders route he'd still be fighting at British level on small hall shows.

We all should be proud of AJ as he's selling out stadiums and fighting everyone he can picking up belts left right and centre, he's one of the biggest stars in boxing but is disliked by 'hardcore' boxing fans, its baffling.

I really cant be bothered on boxing forums these days with all this hate.

some people just cant stand the fact that aj has the hype machine and casuals behind him. often with fighters like that theres a perception that they are somehow pampered frauds and have things easy, but in this case ajs actually gone about things in a very ambitious way and won clearly every time

You're probably right. I like AJ as a fighter but I can't stand all the casuals, hype and Hearns bullshít that's behind him. AJ has done well in a weak era and has been exciting to watch for the most part. I think if him and Hearn really wanted the Wilder fight though it would be happening. Instead we're getting a proven 39yo drug cheat in Sasha (which was always happening btw) then probably Whyte again! Enoughs enough!

People have a right to be pissed off at all the circus around him. Looks as if even some casuals are going the same way judging by the ticket sales for Pov so far....

I see Joshua smashing Povetkin around the 3rd or 4th round.

Povetkin is overated IMO.

Matchroom want to build the Wilder fight. Other than Fury, they see nobody else as a big risk for Joshia or Wilder, so they thought they could string it out, dangle the carrot so to speak, get people clambering for it, all the while lining up a few tomatoe cans for them both, and at end of 2019, early 2020, they make the fight for much more substantial money.

Fury, if his fight with Wilder goes ahead, has proven he can be a spanner in the works to that plan. Hearn i believe was convinced it would be mid to late 2019 before Fury was even ready to consider competing with Joshua or Wilder.

It should've been made now. You need to rememberer all these tomato cans for AJ will be on PPV no matter who it is. They're taking the complete piss out the fans IMO.

The Wilder fight doesn't need built up. Matchroom just want to milk AJ dry before risking him against Wilder because there's a fair chance he gets starched. Obviously there's a fair chance AJ wins but they're not willing to take the risk just yet the greedy cùnts.

I hope Pov stiffens AJ and Fury boxes Wilders head off and leaves them looking like the cùnts they are.

I wouldn't call AJ last few fights as tomato cans.

On PPV he has fought Whyte for the British

Martin(ok he's a can)
Brezeale (currently Wilders mandatory)
Molina(ok accept that one)
Wlad
Takam(was meant to be pulev)
Parker (world champion)
Now povetkin (4th best HW at the mo)

Hardly a list of cans.

He potentially has Hughie or pulev as a mandatory, Whyte is right on the cusp. So even if he fought those 2 on PPV before wilder it won't be can central like wlad had as champion

100% agree about milking the fans. This is strictly business for Matchroom. I think most people recognise its probably smart for business to delay ot further, on the flip side its a sport at the end of the day, thats the bottom line, so they key fights should get made as and when the time is right, and for Wilder Joshua that is right now. The fans dont give a monkeys about building this any further and adding an extra 10 million to the pot, screw that, follow the UFC model and get it on, now.

Eddie will talk all sorts of waffle, the pantomime scenes about shirley winkel, 50 million, sign the contract, it is just smoke and mirrors, Eddie teying to appear genuine about making it to build the hype around it, bit never had any intention of getting it done.

I hope Fury follows through and fights Wilder, sticks it right to Hearn big time.
