...there is another rumour floating around claiming that Pacquiao may sign a two-fight deal with Showtime/PBC, face Broner in January, prior to engaging in a summer match-up against Floyd Mayweather.
This rumour seems to be gaining some traction:
"Al Haymon Poised To Swoop For Pacquiao For Mayweather Rematch"
39-year-old Manny Pacquiao is thought to be on the verge of striking a significant deal with US boxing power player Al Haymon.
Pacquiao is thought to be in talks with Floyd Mayweather for a rematch next year and if the fight were to be made, someone like Haymon could certainly make it happen.
Pacquiao is now a free agent and appears not to be interested in working with old promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank again.
Now it looks like he’s interested in being a free agent and signing a deal that some are saying will be a two fight deal with Al Haymon – for the final two fights of his career in 2019.
Pacquiao had planned on boxing again in December but it’s debatable if he will now as the time frame seems unrealistic at this point.
The Filipino boxing legend has also sat down with Eddie Hearn and DAZN but if it’s a Mayweather rematch he wants to maximise earnings for the final stage of his career before retirement, likely Al Haymon and Showtime will be the guys he goes with one suspects.
In terms of how many pay per views the rematch with Mayweather will do, it obviously won’t do what it did in 2015, but it should still do between one to two million buys in the US alone.
Thoughts?

I think there will be more deserving fights for my PPV money than any Mayweather/Pacman matches.

I think a Cinco de Mayo 2019 rematch between Mayweather-Pacquiao will be rather intriguing, because four years would have passed since their first bout, with the Filipino having defeated four world-class opponents since that date (yes, I do feel he was robbed against Horn) in comparison to Floyd failing to engage in a truly competitive fight over the equivalent timeframe.
If Floyd hasn’t kept himself in shape, I mean maintaining his fitness levels of an elite athlete (rather than someone that works out to maintain their physical appearance for vanity reasons like the rest of us), whilst also refraining from participating in the occasional sparring session, then Mayweather Jr. could arguably be vulnerable against the Filipino legend.
I feel that Showtime will inevitably dwell on Money May’s inactivity as a ploy to heavily market the Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch. They will try their upmost to portray Floyd as being very beatable.
This bout could be much akin to Sugar Ray’s final outing against Hector Camacho. And as we’ve seen in the past, mainstream casuals are very eager to handover their hard-earned cash in order to pay for the opportunity to see the villainous Floyd Mayweather Jr. lose.

As always, you make an informed and compelling response EO. And yes I would love someone to shut Wifebeater Jr up, he's just not getting any more of my money...

Fvck mayweather! (not him personally literally up the anus, but proverbially him, his enterprise, his emanation, what it stands for) After the fvcking mcgregor shiteshow in my opinion he has no fornicating place in a professional ring anymore. If armpunching fuckin mcgregor wins round after fuckin round of his sorry ass, has to be waived off as soon he's a bitsy out of breath, to fuckin save him from a close/controversial/corrupt fuckin points win, what the fvck would fvcking pacman do to him except absolutely freakin embarass him. It would at least finally fvcking rid him of his fake 50 and fake fuckin O. On the other hand they just don't fuckin give a shit and would gift him the damn decision anyways. Fvck! Always the same fuckin conclusions.

Enlightened-One wrote: ↑02 Oct 2018, 11:24I’ve read reports suggesting that Floyd Mayweather might face Adrien Broner in Toyko in December, before engaging in a rematch against Manny Pacquiao.
Well it certainly seems that Adrien Broner may be facing either Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao within the next six months:
"Mayweather v Broner: Tokyo appetizer rumored before Pacquiao fight"
Floyd Mayweather is rumored to be considering – or to have initially agreed on a comeback fight with Adrien Broner.
The former pound for pound king outlined his decision to return to action last month following another year of retirement.
Mayweather last fought when dominating UFC fighter Conor McGregor under boxing rules in August 2017. The American has since stated a rematch with Manny Pacquiao will happen.
Taking to social media, Mayweather then said a warm-up would be needed – possibly in Tokyo. And Broner is now being strongly linked.
A Broner fight would certainly mean a second outing with Pacquiao would happen deeper into 2019 after initially been slated for December.
‘The Problem’ has long been a protege of Mayweather’s and any future contest would have a ‘master versus pupil’ angle to it.
Adopting Mayweather’s style, or his own version of it, Broner has claimed world titles at four separate weights. The Cincinnati fighter, like Mayweather, has had his troubles outside of the ring and competing in Japan could be right up his street.
Whether the clash actually gets over the line is still up in the air. This is unless Mayweather himself confirms a deal is done. Whilst Pacquiao will be waiting in the wings for the winner.
KHAN
It could be good news for Amir Khan though, as a delay to ‘MayPac 2’ could mean Pacquaio himself can have an interim battle.
Pacquiao v Khan has been hitting the headlines recently and potentially could be made for January or February.
A return of the current most lucrative event of all time, which garnered 4.6m PPV buys in 2015, is now looking likely for the late spring of 2019.
More is set to come light over the next few weeks. Whilst many see Broner as a tougher test for Mayweather than Pacquiao at this moment in time.
Two more victories could push Mayweather’s amazing record to 52-0.
Thoughts?

It's all about the money.
I for one won't pay for it. Floyd had a great career, but it's over.

If it were free to view then I'd choose to watch it rather than watching paint dry. It wouldn't even be that close a decision.

I won’t pay 100 dollars myself.... if I can watch at a far lesser price, I will.
But as I said earlier, I want Foreman-Holmes on the undercard....maybe Hagler-Leonard 2 as well.

"Manny Pacquiao joins Al Haymon, Adrien Broner then Floyd Mayweather"
Manny Pacquiao has signed up with Floyd Mayweather’s chief handler Al Haymon. The bold move that should pave the way for a rematch between the two stars sometime next year, according to a boxing man who has knowledge of the deal.
But before the rematch happens, Pacquiao is likely to engage American Adrien Broner in a tuneup in January 2019 in a soon-to-be-determined venue.
“There are many options where we can hold that fight,” said the Bulletin source, who has been burning the lines the past few weeks.
A US fight seems the perfect idea since Pacquiao hasn’t fought there after beating Jessie Vargas two years ago.
Mayweather edged Pacquiao in May 2015. The Filipino legend insists that he fought with an injured shoulder and vows Mayweather will be in for a rough night if they rumble again.
Talks of a rematch heightened last month when Pacquiao and Mayweather ran into each other in Tokyo.
MP PROMOTIONS
Pacquiao’s decision to hook up with Haymon also comes with another perk, said the source. Who is joining hands with renowned dealmaker Sean Gibbons in the negotiations with Mayweather and Haymon.
“It will be an opportunity for other Filipino fighters to shine in the US,” he said, noting that ex-world bantam champion Marlon Tapales will soon be fighting under Pacquiao’s MP Promotions.
Pacquiao used to fight for Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. but his contract with the Las Vegas-based outfit lapsed recently.
Pacquiao, who turns 40 on Dec. 17, crushed Argentine strongman Lucas Matthysse in his last fight in Kuala Lumpur.

"Manny Pacquiao explains decision to end career with Al Haymon"
Senator MANNY “Pacman” PACQUIAO, boxing’s only eight-division world champion, announced today that he has entered into an exclusive agreement to work with manager/advisor Al Haymon.
The new alliance will have team Pacquiao and Haymon work together to navigate the remainder of his illustrious career.
Pacquiao’s first defense of the World Boxing Association welterweight world title will kick off the new partnership and will have Pacquiao appear on the Premier Boxing Champions series. Pacquiao’s promotion company, MP Promotions, will promote all of his upcoming bouts under this new alignment with Haymon.
MP Promotions will also work with Al Haymon to bring some of the best fighters from the Philippines and Asia to the United States to appear on the PBC series.
“I’m very excited about this new chapter in my career and I’m looking forward to a fresh start. I’m reinvigorated by the prospects of bringing up new fighters under the MP Promotions banner,” said Pacquiao. “My team will work closely with Al Haymon for the remainder of my career to deliver the most anticipated fights with the top PBC fighters. Those are the fights the fans want to see and the ones I want to have to close out my career.”
“MP Promotions is very excited about this last phase of Senator Manny’s Hall of Fame Career. We look forward to launching this new relationship with Manny’s first world title defense,” said Joe Ramos, who heads MP Promotions. “I would also like to acknowledge matchmaker Sean Gibbons, legal counsel Tom Falgui, and Senator Manny’s aide Steve Jumalon for their tireless efforts and invaluable advice.”
Pacquiao, a three-time Fighter of the Year and Boxing Writers Association of America’s reigning Fighter of the Decade, will return to the ring early next year. The fight, which will be announced soon, will be co-promoted by MP Promotions and TGB Promotions.
