I'm an asshole I want to see him knocked out cold..... Quickly
I mean honestly if they matched him with one of the better contenders of the moment like Jarrell Miller or whatever, the guy could literally not train AT ALL, and still win probably

He could sit at home watching TV for the whole 2 month training camp, and still get the W pretty easy. That's how little chance Fres has against anybody with a pulse, and from the looks of a guy like Miller he'd relish the chance to not train

So would a guy like Andy Ruiz or Kownacki.
Who is the highest ranked fighter on boxrec that you think Oquendo could beat?
MAYBE Joey Abell at #59...and even that is no certainty

maybe #22 junlong, who may be a total fraud

and #35 mario daser, who is a fraud who likely buys his wins. read up on the afolabi fight btw...

No way Oquendo beats Abell (despite the fact that he did like 100 years ago) or Junlong. He gets ktfo by both of them. He is ancient and inactive for almost 5 years fighter that lost to even older McCall back in 2010. Ffs i even guess that he's worse than BJ Flores!

Really few tbh and it were really quick ko's he is a fraud but still enough for 60 years old Oquendo.

Haha. A joke of a title fight is now canceled due to a failed drug test.

#68 Gonzalo Omar Basile. WBA should elevate Bryan to "regular" champion and then mandate a defense vs Oquendo within 120 days.

I didn't even realize he'd fought Abell before, but Abell has never been particularly tough to beat. Big hitter, but he folds rather easily. Of course I doubt Oquendo could make him quit.

Damn near anybody they could dig up that would be title shot worthy even by the WBA's nonsensical standards should be able to beat Oquendo pretty easily.

Imagine a 45½ year old world title challenger finally receiving an opportunity to challenge for the WBA world championship despite being inactive for almost five years! FFS! :brick:
Gotta admit, it would be funny if he won the title. WBA regular is a joke and that would be the pile of dung on top of the pile dung.

I'd find it a tragedy. The division already looks weak. A win by a senior citizen would make it look even worse
I want him destroyed just to keep him out of the ratings for good

WBA N°15 ranked Contender CHRIS LOVEJOY is the only legit substitute the fans want to see vs. OQUENDO! He's the people's champ, the next BIG thing, what the hell has the man to do to get a shot? Kill somebody?

More than likely. He was on a rapid down hill slide 5 years ago and has been inactive since then. I just can't see anyway for him to be competitive with anyone in the top 50

This would be my plan:

1. Oquendo vs Bryan - WBA Regular. Late 2018. Bryan probably wins.
2. Whyte vs Chisora. Late 2018. Whyte probably wins.
3. Bryan vs Miller - WBA Regular. Early 2019. Miller probably wins.
4. Joshua vs Wilder - WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO. Summer 2019.
5. Miller vs Whyte - WBA Regular. Summer 2019.
6. Joshua/Wilder vs Miller/Whyte. All the belts. Late 2019.

That would have every belt unified in the next 15 or so months. Until the WBA sanction another title fight for no reason. Unfortunately, I think only Whyte vs Chisora will actually happen. Maybe AJ vs Wilder as well. I want to see Miller and Bryan tested.

WBA is that organization that would prevent Wilder - Joshua by ordering Oquendo - Joshua on the day Hearn and Haymon shake hands and agree to terms.

I agree. Sad thing is Oquendo would get hurt with Joshua. I want him knocked out not killed

Kill somebody or just beat somebody. So far, he hasn't.

The WBA should elevate Fres from eternal mandatory challenger to Regular champion just for having so many fights fall through. The belt is a joke anyway so even that wouldn’t tarnish it anymore...

Don't know what he's basing this on but atleast he looks like he's willing to act fast with it. Following this, a Miller v Bryan unification matchup would then be easy to sell as they know each other fairly well and i'm sure Miller will have alot to say.

Hi,

just read it on the news, its ridocoulous, I thought I would buy me a ticket for this fight.
I'm glad that I didn't! The question is: Is Charr already officially stripped of his WBA Regular title or not?
I guess he should be stripped but with WBA you never know...
Thanks for answers and bringing light in this comedy!

On WBA official site he is still listed as "WBA World Champion"

But then, if you go to check out the CW, you can find Gassiev still as a champion so their site is a total joke.

Seems like WBA has 5 types of belts:
WBA Super Champion
WBA Unified Champion
WBA World Champion
WBA Interim Champion
WBA Champion in recess

IMO even the EBU belt is worth more than the WBA World belt.

I just have noticed that Joshua have 2 WBA Belts - Super and...? Is it the "WBA Unified Championship" belt or what?

No he is not which doesn't make their rankings less ridiculous.

Good question! Joshua with 2 WBA belts! That's the next question or better call it a riddle to be solved.
Looking forward to the answers! Maybe its the Super Duper Champion belt :brick:
Apart of this confusion, I've noticed another strange detail at the Joshua v Povetkin fight!
At the intro Michael Buffer introduced Joshua as the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World!
Imagine, what a fatal mistake, I guess if you pay enough you get such an intro, even withou a belt.

So 3 qeustions remain:
- Is Charr still WBA Regular Champ? I guess he's at the moment
-Why has Joshua received 2 WBA belts and what does the 2nd one stand for
-Why was Joshuia introduced as the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World

http://www.wbaboxing.com/wba-champions here you got Gassiev (and Golovkin) still listed as champions.

Btw it looks like WBA have some American bum beater (like Lovejoy in HW) ranked in top 15 in every or almost every division. Maybe it's a kind of new tradition for them?
