Ayala was a real piece of work. Absolute teenage phenomenon was handling world champions in sparring age 14. Sadly a heroin addiction and some horrendous crimes against women mean we never saw the best of him.

If you want aggressive though go on YouTube and watch a peak El Torito spitting at a fallen opponent after sparking him out.

Was due to box Duran before his legal troubles in the early 80s. That’s one of the great ‘What If?’ Fights that never happened.

GGG presently. Great at cutting the ring off.

Foreman was pretty aggro!

Has there been a biography on him at all?

Interesting paragraph that may explain his behaviour, childhood abuse is such a terrible destroyer of lives.

Antonio Ayala Jr. was born in San Antonio on Feb. 13, 1963. His father, by most accounts an exacting and occasionally harsh taskmaster when it came to boxing, trained him from the time he was 5, but his upbringing was riddled with cruel realities. He began drinking and shooting heroin in his early teens, and he said in interviews that he had hidden the fact that between the ages of 9 and 11 he was molested by a family friend, telling no one until he disclosed it to a prison counselor.

At British level I would have to go with Michael Gomez. Barring the fight he threw away he was always aggressive. Loved how Warren and Team Khan underestimated him but through his sheer agression and pressing nearly pulled off the upset even though he was well past his best.

Yeah Duran was a vicious terror in and out of the ring the legendary Ray Arcel said that he was the most vicious man ever to put on a pair of gloves but coupled with that he was a magnificent boxer as well
I remember reading somewhere that Duran said that being in the heat of battle in a difficult fight was like a drug to him. Other men prefer alcohol, or recreational drugs or sex - but for him it was pushing himself against an opponent.

To be fair to Duran he did quite enjoy the other 3 aswell.

My four favorite heavyweights are all tough-as-they-come pressure bangers:
Rocky Marciano
Jack Dempsey
Joe Frazier
Mike Tyson

(I would've loved to have seen any combination of that quartet pairing off)

A few more aggressive fighters worthy of a mention:

Carl Froch
Erik Morales
Arthur Abraham
Mikkel Kessler

I would also say that The North has had a few boys who aren't afraid of a good old tear up.

The likes of Eamon Magee, Darren Corbett & Martin Rogan could get stuck in when they were in the mood for it.

Jamie Moore was very intense and in your face. Cracking fighter. His fight with Macklin is a lot of people's favourite British title fight!

John Murray only knew how to fight one way. As soon as he stopped coming forward, he never lasted long.

Scott Harrison another.

Now a days I would class Scott Quigg as an aggressive come forward fighter.
Not afraid to take a shot or 3 to land one.

Aggressive for sure, but I think it is a more calculated aggression, rather than a raw spiteful thing.
