He was.. he was a 2008 Olympian. Same year as Wilder, BJS, Price..
He just never got going as a pro I guess.

Enter a hated Russian for the msg thug crowd, a boxrec ranked 53 older lightheavy circling the drain the past 4 years. Give him 6 days to lose 8 lbs and we have the usual crowd here praising the fight.
Can we cuff his hands behind his back to make triple sure? Nah, we'll just use the ref.
Next up: Shooting fish in a barrel for more good sport, yup!

He’s only losing another 2 pounds. His undercard fight was at a 162 catch weight.

Stink is stink no matter how boxing wants to parse it. Willie the more active high end fighter closer to 160 than Korobov has been in ages.

A few other websites I read 162lbs. Including quotes from Korovob’s management. This was the first reported article that came out from the ring. There have been more accurate articles since. More questions and more answers.

Hello. I didnt want to start a new thread, but wanted to ask if there is a link to a site where it mentions that Korobovs nationality is USA. Because acording to his profile in Boxrec he is not Russian anymore, and that is wrong in my opinion. Thanks.

OMFG I'm so hyped. I can't believe Korobov made that weight! This is SO MUCH better than Monroe Jr. Korobov is a master technician. I want to see where he's at now. He's fighting for his career. I hope he comes with fire. That face off made me hyped.

Even if Korobov gets stopped, he'll at least be going out on his shield. Monroe Jr. doesn't take any risks even when he knows he's going to lose.
