Something doesn't add up here; Warren was already made bankrupt in March this year after the Ricky Burns thing. Bankruptcy generally lasts 12 months before being discharged so where has this come from since Warren is presumably still 'insolvent'?

I thought it was Burns who went bankrupt? But must admit it’s hard to follow all these contractual disputes, given the amount of them over the years...

Pretty sure Burns (and Morrison) were declared bankrupt at the time a few years ago when it all went South with Warren. Warren then had a drawn out legal battle with his solicitor about the fees to them and I'm pretty sure I read was made bankrupt after being ordered to repay about a million quid in March this year. Could be wrong though.

It could all be quite simple if boxers would only sign contracts on board headed letter paper (there are forms available) problems only arise when boxers sign contracts with limited companies etc quite simply the board has no jurisdiction over contracts that are not on official board forms so when it all goes pear shaped the board are always criticised which is ridiculous seeing as all boxers are warned of the implications of not signing board forms this is all explained in detail to all applicant boxers at their initial interview with their area council I carnt speak for all areas but it is definitely the case in the Midlands area contracts on non board forms are civil matters and the board cannot intervene in civil matters simple because the limited company is not a licence holder
