I think Reiss got it right this time, but with some luck on his side in terms of Fury's recovery. So long as you look at this case individually, where Reiss was confident in Fury's ability to defend himself reasonably, it's fine. But if you referee like that without tons of experience you'll get someone hurt.

Cortez was a crap ref. Straight up.
In the late 90's i rated him as one of the top ref's but after the mayweather hatton fight that changed,not because i was a hatton fan but because it was like he wanted to prove a point and show billy graham he is the ref and wont be told what to do. Billy graham said to him to let hatton fight his fight on the inside and not to break it up too quick because thats hattons style then next thing he is shaftin hatton then a few more fights after that he was garbage too. Cortez shouldnt even have an opinion tbh
