Zubrei wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 05:29 I'm bucking the trend here. Wlad wins this easily. Even if he has little left, Wlad has the power, the size and the skill. He'd knock Whyte out within 8 rounds.
Looks at Whyte's last 6 fights:
Chisora I - He lost
Tann - Keep busy fight
Helenius - He's always been crap, but a good pts win
Browne - Could have bee a test, if Browne actually trained for it
Parker - Good win - but he was life and death at the end, with Wlads power advantage it's not going to go well
Chisora II - He won with a knockout, but was losing the fight at that point.
Yes, Whyte is probably number 4 or 5 in the world, but he's not really that good. He deserves a shot at Joshua, but lets be honest we all know how that ends. In Wlad's last fight he wasn't that far off beating Joshua.
Wlad beats Whyte by knockout
I'd watch it!!!

Where Bunce mentioned a british heavy , got me thinking if its not whyte, imagine the boorfest of hughie v wlad, (not a ticket selling venture!) Or Dave allen getting jabbed to bits v wlad, or ddd v wlad, or delboy.
I think wlad even if hes only at 40% would be too savvy for all the heavys outside the big 3.

Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Whyte isn't very good but Wlad is 43. Only Foreman and Holmes were good at that age and they had solid chins, were more adaptable and had a wider variety of punches. Wlad will get hit and won't recover. Probably round the 7th.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Fair point mate. Yeah Whyte definitely deserves his shotoogiebe wrote: ↑11 Jan 2019, 12:24I hear ya, but staying in shape and being in the ring are two totally different things. I could be wrong (not the first, not the last), but Dillian is too good to lose to an old fighter out of the ring for so long. I hope Whyte gets his shot at AJ. He earned that one, no doubt. This Wlad story is Hearn's, IMHO. Let him stay retired.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
I sometimes forget Foreman had 10 years out before coming back, really is fecking insane is that !
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
George was carefully matched and other than a few rounds against Holyfield and one punch against Moorer, he was awful. But he did it...
Big thing against Wlad in this would be that Whyte has confidence and will believe 100% that he can win.

Wlad has just 'retired', and done a few feckin cycles on the old hormones

I'm not being funny, but when people talk about Wlad's career defining fights, I'd be surprised if Whyte is top 10

Yeah, I think Whyte makes the top 5. Maybe not if you think Sam Peter is better than him.
Wlad put in an exceptional performance against AJ last time out but I'm not sure he can go to the well again.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
its not like whyte is much better then guys like jennings was. would you really lol at a guy like that compared to whyte? or even chambers back in his day? whyte is game and desrerves a shot, but lets be real, he won 1 round vs aj and almost got stopped by chisora the first time in a fight many had him losing, and was losing on the cards when he got the ko late in the rematch. he just survived parker. and i mean as lol as a fatty like sam peter was i can easily see him having ktfo whyte
i dont think adding whyte to his win column would really add much to wlads career. though i think whyte would stop him these days. wont happen though

It's the context. 43 years old beating whyte is more impressive than prime wins over a pulev type. Chambers may well have beaten whyte, but he had nothing for wlad.
Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
My moneys on Wlad to win quite comfortably, if it happens soon.

Thompson, Rahman and Jennings are all bigger wins than Whyte. Difference of opinion on just how good Whyte.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑12 Jan 2019, 21:181. Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Wlad has quite an amount of wins over guys, who were better than Whyte. Dillian is no match for Klitschko, if Wlad is in shape. The only question here is how much Wlad declined since his retirement. If he didn't much, than he'll win Whyte pretty comfortably indeed.

Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
I agree, three names straight away that were better at the point Wlad boxes them than Whyte is now, but Whyte is improving fight by fight and has shown that he has a ‘win at all costs’ attitude (as illustrated by his shameless holding in R12 v Parker)smiling assassin wrote: ↑13 Jan 2019, 07:45Thompson, Rahman and Jennings are all bigger wins than Whyte. Rahman was shot when wlad fought him. That was one of his most frustrating passive performances. That shouldn't be mentioned at all.

Re: Wladimir Klitschko vs Dillian Whyte
Gosh. I mean, Chagaev was still useful. The fight with Ibragamov was quite the stinker but Iggy was still pretty good. Byrd was a pretty good heavyweight, and ripping on Sam Peter at the time of the first fight? The guy could legitimately bang and held a belt and had Wlad over a few times. This is without me even checking Wlad’s boxrec record.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑12 Jan 2019, 21:18 1. Povetkin

In terms of the timing and Wlad being old it would be a very good win but he’s not as good as some of Wlad’s past opponents and I like Dillian. Wlad’s era was boring but they weren’t all as shit as people make out.

jennings didnt suck compared to whyte. he was actually a bit like whyte, having beaten a few other contenders to get a shot. lol how good do u think whyte is? he was just down on the cards in the 11th vs chis and loads had him losing the first fightRiddick Blowe wrote: ↑14 Jan 2019, 15:07Rahman was shot to poo.
