Notable size difference. Bivol looks small.

Bivol boxing beautifully. Lovely to watch. Boxing circles around Smith. Watch out for that Smith power as he's close to a one punch ko artist - that's the only danger.

118-110 Bivol

Smith might not have a high level of boxing ability, but he has power and heart. Gained some more fans tonight.

Bivol still number #1 at 175 for me, just a matter if he stays there or goes to 168.

Did they just fight at cruiserweight for a light heavyweight title, that's what Boxrec says?
[Never mind, I see someone's fixed the listing now.]

I'll be sorry to see him go down to 168. I think the comp is better for him at LH: Gvozdyk, Kovalev, Beterbiev. IMO Bivol is #1 at 175 but Gvozdyk could give him a run for his money.

Not a spectacular performance by Bivol. If he had to fight that hard to get through your average Joe, how is he to do against Gvozdyk -or worse, Kovalev? Maybe he's not so sure he can tangle with that tandem.

It was indeed. Reminded Bivol that he was only in a boxing match, had this been a fight...

An expected outcome. Bivol is significantly better from the technical aspect and Smith was too primitive in his actions for a more skilled Bivol. Yet Smith's toughness was enough to stand his ground until the final bell despite being hurt at the final seconds, probably he was saved by the bell then.

But I still think, that despite possessing a good skillset Bivol lacks fluidity and creativity.

According to unofficial CompuBox statistics, Smith landed only 39 punches out of 395 in the entire fight. CompuBox credited Bivol for hitting Smith with 208-of-714 overall punches.

The well-rounded Bivol was equally effective with his jab (101-of-511) and power punches (107-of-203).

Bivol is great to watch, he does everything well. Though you just get the feeling that he could probably gain more of a finishing instinct and go for the kill. Maybe he is still a bit cagey of being caught out in that regard.

Talk of him making SMW with a possibility of facing Callum Smith is probably unrealistic I think. Not sure why Eddie would want to put Callum up to that.

Loads of top quality fights to be made at 175 though, and like some have said above, I put Bivol at the top of the tree.

Bivol is a very good boxer but he is too small for 175. Smith hurt him twice, so he should stay away from Beterbiev and Kovalev.

I feel the same way. I'm thinking the move to 168 is the desire to be a two weight champ and also the hope of a Canelo payday.
