Thurman wins a majority
I had Thurman wide, he was beyond comfortable but for a couple of rounds. I’d liked to have seen more from him but he was always in front.
I agree.
No excuses but he did have a long layoff too, doubt he was expecting as rough of a ride in his comeback fight.

Seriously? You wouldn’t watch him fight Crawford? Why on earth not?
He's so fvcking negative, I can't stomach performances like the one he put in tonight. I'd rather watch paint dry. At least the paint would be trying.
I’d give Pacquaio, despite his age, a chance against this guy. I’d rather see Crawford take him to pieces.
He looked like his punch resistance had gone tonight Vs a fat over-the-hill Lopez. PAC would make short work of him if Thurman got off his bike for a few seconds. But I still wouldn't watch him.

Thurman is a stink out merchant, fvck him.

The Thurman we saw tonight gets stopped by Spence or Thurman and probably even Porter.

But expect the Thurman who fights those guys (if he ever does) to be much improved over the one who struggled tonight.

A lengthy layoff is not easy to sweep aside.
Thurman stops himself? :D

MrPip is right tho'
I mean, what would Wilder have done to the Fury that fought Pianeta ?!
You can excuse a bad night at the office after 2 years+ out. The first 5 rounds he looked as good as ever, remember.

But harsh for me, he looked class TWO YEARS ago against Danny Garcia. I have to say, naively, i assumed he was out juicing, he looked a bit poor tonight in comparison to two years ago.

It really was. That was painful to watch. Why can't Thurman counter punch? He just gloves up and just back even with the most wild, inaccurate hooks Lopez swung from out of range. Dreadful. That version of Lopez would lose to domestic level fighters in the UK and he had Thurman on queer street. Spence would walk through Lopez in 2.

A lot of people are too hard on him. He's coming back from a two year layoff.

Great fight. Very tough fight for Thurman’s first back. What is sad is that most idiotic boxing fans will point to Thurman not having power anymore or that he was rusty instead of crediting Lopez for coming into ring looking great. Clearly it was Jojosito’s best performance in a big fight with an elite boxer.

Both guys star should rise higher after tonight but fans are stupid. Ya you, and YOU...and your Sister too.

You guys new to the sport? Every great fighter explains how difficult it is coming back from a year lay-off never mind 2. Keep watching the sport and you’ll get it.

Imagine sitting on a couch for two years and then fighting a fired up, well trained boxer in one of the best camps in the sport with 8 ounce gloves? Thurman will be much better after going through this one and willing out the win.

Would be a really good fight - I'd certainly want to see it.
I'd fancy OneTime to be a bit better than he was tonight and nick it, but on tonight's showing he could make Manny look like a 28 year old featherweight again.
Intriguing.

Well he almost stopped himself by repeatedly pulling straight back, then finally getting caught.

But I think I meant Crawford. My usual proofreader is busy watching the Munguia card tonight.

The scorecards are OK, they reflect the fight. Thurman looked unconvincing. Lopez was majorly pressing uneffectively, but still had his moments. So, Thurman was far from ideal in the defence, while he wasn't too convincing in countering, although he caught Lopez perfectly in the 2nd. After such a perfprmance I won't pick Thurman against any of the other champs and maybe even Danny Garcia and Ugas, and Mikey Garcia FFS.
