Yep just goes to show how different people are, some fighters are done at world class before they reach 30, some like Hopkins or Archie Moore were still at a high level in their late 40's.

Like when Groves was threatening to 'shank' people in Frochs team? That kind of gentleman?thechump wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 08:08What a bitter wanker he is. "I do remember thinking he started off well and went for it, but then started to fade. But he bit down on his gum-shield and picked the pace up. He took it to Chudinov with a heavy assault of hooks and combinations and got the stoppage. I was happy to stand up and applaud him, he'd won a world title at the fourth attempt. Apart from Adam Booth???
I know they split before the 1st Froch fight but was there a bad falling out between the pair??
Ward would of smashed froch anywere on the planet, ward bullied froch up close boxed his head off from the outside,ok he never ironed him out but he gave him a boxing lesson,he had his flute and tamed the cobra lol. Are you talking about the same people from the froch camp that were threatening groves? His two baffoon brothers??samwbr wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 08:47Like when Groves was threatening to 'shank' people in Frochs team? Ward was offered the fight on the UK on more than 1 occasion but wouldn't take it. Not saying Froch would win but get Ward out of the US and it would have been an interesting night, particularly in Nottingham.
Think your definition of ironing someone out needs a bit of thought chump.
Is it Lee Froch who was the bellend in the leather jacket ?thechump wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 09:57Ward would of smashed froch anywere on the planet, ward bullied froch up close boxed his head off from the outside,ok he never ironed him out but he gave him a boxing lesson,he had his flute and tamed the cobra lol. ( not really the point but I think you have misunderstood the Brent character)banjo wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 08:32danconnollyeire wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 08:26His wife must cheat on him once a week and he must know. Why else is he so insecure?
I've always said he's boxing's version of David Brent, he lashes out when his veil of vanity is lifted.
What that he isn't anywhere near as clever and cool as he makes out?leejonesjnr wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 11:13( not really the point but I think you have misunderstood the Brent character)banjo wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 08:32danconnollyeire wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 08:26

The basic idea behind Brent is that he is a bafoon who says and does ridiculous and inappropriate things because he is desperate to be liked but is fundamentally a good human being. I don’t believe that Froch is, he is deeply unpleasant.banjo wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 11:15What that he isn't anywhere near as clever and cool as he makes out?leejonesjnr wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 11:13( not really the point but I think you have misunderstood the Brent character)
Maybe but Froch should be judged as a fighter not a person. Some things which may lead people to think he can be a bit unpleasant are also things which made him the fighter he was.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 11:18The basic idea behind Brent is that he is a bafoon who says and does ridiculous and inappropriate things because he is desperate to be liked but is fundamentally a good human being. Nah. He can be judged by any criteria, just like anyone else. Fighter/person/butcher/baker/candlestick maker.Coco wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 11:20Maybe but Froch should be judged as a fighter not a person. Or, you can separate the two. Froch was a great fighter and an absolute prick.Coco wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 11:20Maybe but Froch should be judged as a fighter not a person. Entirely up to you wether or not you have an opinion on the man rather than the boxer. This thread is actually about George Groves but it has evolved organically, as conversations sometimes do. For example my post which caused this segue way was actually pointing out how someone had misunderstood David Brent.
Yeah.
Good one, cheers
Disagree. Foreman had a chin of steel, fought face first and left it all in the ring and he wasn't as unpleasant as literally picking up dogshite and putting it directly in to your mouthCoco wrote: ↑29 Jan 2019, 11:20Maybe but Froch should be judged as a fighter not a person.
